Mandatory plans are what kills it

I've got the doorbell and indoor camera and they all work well. The problem is you either pay the 24.99 a month for the full monitor plan which includes app features or you pay roughly 10.99 a month which doesn't include monitoring or app features. When I purchased I saw reviews that said you could pay a small fee around $5 and self monitor through the app. NOT TRUE!!

Dont waste your money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.After a year of using this, the wifi stopped working and the whole alarm system is messed up. They have customer service who doesnt know how to resolve / troubleshoot. Their solution is to get a new keypad or base station.

Posted .Sorry to hear about your experience. Yes, arming and status check by voice command through Amazon Alexa requires the Interactive Monitoring Plan.

Nice idea bad implementation

One camera lens fwll off the other day in less than a year outside. Chimes may be dayed up to 10 seconds. Smoke fetectors are way too sensitive for kitchens. Compression on the cameras makes them useless unless somine is a foot away. Just bad all around. Changing to Ubiquiti in the next year. More reliable, better cameras and not much more ecpensive.

Not pleased
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this system online (not from Best Buy) when they offered a free camera and doorbell, seemed like a good deal at the time. The keypad #s 3, 6, & 9 did not register when pressed at first, but eventually did. So I continued. The door and motion sensors installed easily and worked as expected. The camera did not. After being on hold for 15 minutes to get support (red flag!) the support was not good, but after multiple MORE attempts to connect with tech help, they did say my camera must be defective and would overnight a new one. Then I asked about the doorbell, and was told it had to be wired! Dealbreaker. Had to take it all down to return. During this process, I inadvertently triggered the panic mode, and couldn't stop it because the keypad issue returned. Had to remove a battery from the base station to stop the noise. Everything wireless but the doorbell??? Are you serious? Going to try the Nest system. The doorbell is wireless, and is not included in the basic system, so it will initially cost a tad more. But its ALL wireless, and the savings on monitoring will cover the difference in 6-8 months.

Total Waste
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Spent over $1000 on equipment (wifi extender, outdoor cameras, solar panels, bay station, sensors, keypad, blah blah blah), installation, monitoring...system is less than a year old, constantly drops signal with bad audio over live feed ..sound goes in & out as the video freezes. Not to mention if you get an in app camera alert, video takes an extremely long time to load. By the time you connect whatever had been going on is over then there's no recording because you were attempting to connect. Support seems to be no help, they either blame your internet speed, which I have the fastest available or recommend more equipment. Starting to look like a bottomless pit to me. Total waste compared to the loss of time and money spent vs quality of product received.

issues after a year

Every few weeks the system would throw an error and everything would reset. We would go to sleep and wake up to an alarm system that stopped working overnight. We would then have to go around and reconnect all of the sensors again. Simplisafe's "solution" was to have us move the base to another location. Of course, this had no effect and the system kept resetting. Simplisafe was not too concerned when we cancelled either, which shows me the commitment that they have to their customers.
