liked the design and its functioning, but this product does not operate without hub (or main control system) which is another extra cost

I had wanted this lock forever. Finally got it on sale but in the end had to return it. Very easy installation. Fit well to hide previous hardware. Only problem for me was the locking mechanism did extend the locking bolt far enough into the frame to make me feel like it was enough to be safe…it just barely was in it. Might have been fine but I wasn’t comfortable with it, so returned the lock unfortunately.

Worked great for about 2 years. Now it has issues where it constantly sends back to back updates to my phone saying it’s locking and unlocking when it’s not.

I bought this to work with my simplisafe security system. I had a friend install it. It took him a while and he’s an electrician, so I think it’s not very easy. I had a lot of problems with it jamming, maybe because my door is old and the door jam is a bit loose. You have to push the door in more for it to lock properly, if not, it jams.

I have all kinds of trouble with SimpliSafe. I installed it and it worked fine. I closed the house for the season and moved 1300 miles away and now it’s not working. SimpliSafe is a great concept when it’s working. This is at least the 3rd SimpliSafe door lock I’ve had.

This was easy to I stall and looked very nice! I had to return it because I did not know that you needed an entire system with a monthly subscription. Very expensive for something you need to keep paying for

I bought the lock for the front door of my vacation home, where I've used Simplisafe for about 6 years without any problems. I installed the lock pretty easily, and it looks like it works okay. Installation was easy. Note that the system is not a "lock" -- it's just a controller for the inside of the door that can open or close the deadbolt when you punch in the PIN code on the keypad that you place on the outside of the door. You don't have to replace the lock mechanism or need new keys, you just install the Simplisafe mechanism to the inside part of the door. This is a nice feature if you want to keep your current keys, and it simplifies installation. The negative is that the keypad itself feels a little flimsy, and simply sticks to somewhere on the outside of the door. Anyone could easily rip it off and take it with them (not that it would do them any good on its own). It also felt like it could easily fall off the wall and get lost. That said, I never actually used it. Turns out the lock is not compatible with the "original" system, which is something they do not notify you about in any of the marketing or product information (as of June 2020 -- that might change). It was terribly annoying to buy this, open it, set it up, spend half an hour trying to figure out why my system wouldn't recognize it, spend an hour reading up on it to look to see if it might be incompatible with my product, then have to call the support (which is great) to find out that in fact it doesn't work with the original system. I would give the product itself around 4 stars -- okay, not great, but a cheap alternative to a sturdy Schlage lock that will replace the lock and integrate with a keypad. I subtracted one more star because Simplisafe isn't being clear that it doesn't work for the thousands of people who have their original system.

The simplisafe is alright there are much better home alarm systems than this one.

Did not install well. Had to reverse the lock 180 degrees and even that would not allow the SimpliSafe device to align well. The travel to lock and unlock kept retrying and would not sync. The deadbolt is a kwickset. Did work for a while but after 2 weeks the SimpliSafe device failed completely and stopped responding even to the keypad.

Biggest disadvantage is that you can use it from your phone only when you sign up for active monitoring which is like $25/month. I use it for giving access to people to my house using the keypad but its a shame not to be able to use it without the active monitoring

you must have the base to use this lock and I did not have the base so I returned it. It was easy to install and I think I would of liked it but I did not want to have to go through a base to operate the lock.

Sometimes but others not so much. Makes it real inconvenient on the days where it doesn't want to work and you have to dig your keys out to open your door

Even if existing lock is single cylinder, not necessarily, it would be congruent with this lock.

It's good, it works but you need another product to be able to use it

Base unit does not recognize the bolt lock. Needed to contact support over three calls. Finally got someone in support that actually knew what they were doing and initiated the download/upgrade. Took three hours to download/install. If you want this convenience, do it. But, understand that it will take several hours to get it working. Good remote phone control.

For clarity purposes, this product does not actually come with the deadbolt. It also is best suited for doors without the standard cutout for the deadbolt as the keypad isn't wide enough to cover the standard deadbolt cutout. Had to return for these reasons

Bought to replace unit that stopped working. Biggest issue is sometime door stays locked and you are stuck inside as motor jams. Hopefully SimplSafe corrects this issue as it is great idea

Door is difficult to manually lock. Have seen others complain about this on forums. Makes it frustrating and can take a minute or so just to unlock the door

Not sure if I will be able to use without purchasing a subscription Inquired via email but no response. Not sure Will it work with Alexa (Amazon echo)?
