Posted .The Video Doorbell Pro uses infrared - that is, it's looking for sources of heat moving around within view. It might have trouble if there are objects nearby that the infrared sensor is bouncing off - so if possible, you could try changing the position of the camera, or the angle it's pointed at. Our Support team can provide a Horizontal Mounting Bracket, which may help.

I have had no issues with it. I have been thinking of adding a doorbell camera for some time. I thought since I already own their security system, I would give them a shot. The fit and finish of their doorbell is adequate and compact which I needed for my home. Installation was pretty straight forward. The video quality seemed to be fantastic as well. The problems started after the first few days. The camera would constantly loose signal and show offline. My router is not far from my front door. They recommend a range extender. I already had one and tried using that as well with no luck. After re setting the camera and my router several times the issues continued. Simplisafe could have a great product if they could solve the bugs in this camera. I am returning the product and will look elsewhere

This 2nd one doesn’t seem to start recording as quickly as our old one did. For example, the old one would catch motion while they’re in the street or driveway while this new one only starts recording when they’re right in front of the door. Also it says video not available way too much even though our wifi is fine.

Also the video looked really good after installed but a couple of weeks after I started noticing a pinkish tint on the color. Changed it from 720p to 480 and the color improved.

Posted .Thanks for reporting. On the color issue - that's what we would have suggested, to change the video quality setting. But if you put the setting back to 720p (or even 1080p) you should have the correct color again.

It worked all right but did not open the app when it detected motion. It just gave a grunt kind of noise and then you had to sign into the app to find the source of the motion. This was a deal breaker for me so I took it back.

Views all the way to the street from our porch. The only thing I don’t like is that since my husband made the account, the doorbell features and notifications don’t show up on my phone even though the app is connected to the same account. I don’t know if this issue is user error or if this is a prominent issue with this brand.

I’ve experience issues with the night vision not automatically changing to night mode. I’ve reset both my camera and my internet. I’ve also adjusting the settings to the door bell camera to ensure the camera automatically changes to night mode but unfortunately I’ve had no success. The door bell camera also keeps picking up vehicles passing by my house even though I have it set to detect “People Only”. I’ve tried adjusting the sensitivity and block out the areas on the camera to reduce motion detection from the road in front of my house with no success. I’ve contacted SimpliSafe customer support and they sent me another camera but still experience the same problems. I will be returning the this product.
