Bought this to add to my SimpliSafe system. Works great and provides cell phone notification of movement at your front door as well as recording the event.

My first video doorbell, so historical perspective, but the included instructions were good, and pic quality is good. Planning on installing a basic SS security system.

Didn’t have an existing doorbell but I had my uncle hook it up and he hook the cords from kitchen light to SimpliSafe doorbell camera

I purchased this video doorbell for my elderly mother to replace a Arlo camera I had set up at her front door. I made my decision after reading all the good reviews. My mother lives 2000 miles away from me and while I was visiting I set this up. Unfortunately, I would drop the wi-fi connection, so I went out and purchased a mesh wi-fi extender but it did the same thing. I could not get it the stay connected before I left, so I ordered an add-on to the extender and had my nephew set it up to get a stronger signal to the front door, and not it won't even connect to the wi-fi. I won't be back to visit for 3 more months, and by then I probably won't be able to return any of it. I should of just ordered another camera, that have worked perfectly... wouldn't recommend this product.

This doorbell cam is the biggest piece of crap that I have ever had the misfortune of using. Bought from Bestbuy and will be returning to Bestbuy. Lets start with the setup. Its actually pretty simple, unscrew your old doorbell, detach the wires, attach the base plate, reattach the wires. Unfortunately this was about the only simple part of this "Simpli"safe camera. Cue the constant disconnects from wifi. My wifi is good I have a mesh system and have coverage over my entire home. All my other devices connect fine, but this doorbell will not. Sooo, you unplug it from the wall, reset it, plug it back in, re add it to the phone. Sometimes you will have to do this multiple times before it will connect. Its very finicky. Each time you do this pocess it will take 15 -20 min. The camera then worked great!.. For all of 5 minutes.. before i would disconnect again and you have to start the process all over again. Do not waste money on this thing! It will only cause you frustration! I now have two very nice holes in my siding from where this thing once was.

Over all the system is very good when it works. The main doorbell camera keeps losing signal since we purchased, spent time with customer service and was told the door camera was too far from main hub. We moved the hub, that didn’t work, then we were told we needed an extender, they told us we needed to purchase, after a conversation they sent one as a “courtesy “. That seemed to help but it still loses signal for no reason and yes we have the highest speed internet possible, due to wife’s work requirements. We just have to keep resetting our system, so it’s been frustrating. Also as a side note if there is no light at night it’s hard for this system to pick up images, so we are going to consider a better system or if there is an upgrade thru SimpliSafe. If front camera didn’t lose signal I would say great system, but for now only so-so.

When it works it works okay. It’s not the best doorbell and is only 1080p at best. It only uses 2.4ghz WiFi.

Easy to install, and works well. We had to purchase a new door bell because ours was 29 years old and it made a buzzing sound, but after installation of new one it stopped.

I had a ring doorbell and a samsung before and this one has been the best so far

I like the doorbell design. It works fairly well. SimpliSafe builds a good home security system but their cameras leave a bit to be desired. Their camera software needs improvement and better functionality. Also, this doorbell should ring a sound inside on the base station but it doesn’t! That should be an easy software fix.

I purchased this to complement my Simplisafe Security system. It works better than advertised and I'm very pleased with the video quality and sound.

We tried this, but returned it after working with Simplisafe tech support. It was very inconsistent. Sometimes it worked, but sometimes: * Camera repeatedly lost connectivity - even though it had very good WIFI signal at that location * audio was inconsistent - sometimes garbled, sometimes not at all * Alerts were VERY slow coming (up to 5 minutes after the fact) or not at all. It was too slow to be effective. * even at best, when the doorbell rang it was very slow to open the window to allow us to talk to the person. Then most often we were told our audio to them was unintelligible - just static.

Added to my pre-existing system with no issues. 15 min install and was up and running.

Easy to install, video works twenty four/ seven, imaginary is outstanding and price was reasonable. Also the speaker and made microphone are great features.

I give this product 4 stars since it doesn't have a battery pack for backup power. My Moms original doorbell does not work and needs rewiring. doorbell. The device worked great in all my test but I can't set it up outside yet since it needs a power source.

It's the first and only doorbell cam I have ever used, but it works well by itself, and with my simplisafe subscription.
