Plus to see what the doorbell is videoing on your phone you have to pay the higher price monitoring. We did like the slim size of this doorbell-looks nice on your door.

After reviewing simplisafe’s message boards, it appears I’m not the first to report this issue with a batch manufactured in 2020. It appears to be a firmware issue. SimpliSafe has yet to respond to my multiple messages. I have all their other equipment (alarm, video monitor, water sensor, smoke detector) and have had no issues.

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.During the first couple weeks the doorbell missed maybe one quarter to one half of the people who showed up on my doorstep, but sometimes I get 30-40 notifications a day for things like leaves blowing in the breeze, fireflies or car headlights passing by. Switching the sensitivity to low hasn’t helped. Buying a separate wedge on eBay has helped it not miss as many people at door as it corrects for camera not having 180 degree field of vision but it makes the doorbell look pretty makeshift. Unfortunately I realized on day 16 that Best Buy’s return policy is only 15 days and not 30 or I would have returned it

Not compatible with digital doorbells

The second tech support person at Simpli Safe knew that their doorbell was not compatible with a digital doorbell. Sad, had to return and buy Ring.

I returned and got the Blink wireless cameras and they work like a charm! Just wish they had a doorbell but Blink Cams are awesome!

It WILL NOT notify you when someone presses the button unless standing right next to it. It WILL NOT let you see what triggered the motion sensor. I read before buying this that it will work without paying for the monthly monitoring service. Whoever wrote that review was wrong. I'd love to return it and trade for a RING but is now too late.

My husband worked hours to install but could not get it to work. Disappointed as we have all SimpliSafe prodcts and monitoring service. Our prior purchases were high quality. We reinstalled our old "Ring" doorbell and returned the SimpliSafe doorbell.

I hooked this up as instructed, however no power to the device. It seems this was not unique to the one I purchased. Unrelated to the product itself, when I looked at my Best Buy account it started this item was no longer returnable. Even though I bought it less than a month ago. Seems odd. SimpliSafe has offered to replace it, so we will see what happens next.
