    Simplisafe cameras are not good

    Unreliable at best. I get several notices of cars driving by, but it almost never picks up an Amazon delivery left on my doorstep. Almost every time someone rings the doorbell. I get the notification that someone rang the doorbell, but I cannot connect to the camera for 10 to 20 seconds. It also only records events like motion detection or ringing. It does not record all the time like most camera systems.

    Do not buy this product... Maybe it's because I don't have the Simplisafe system to use with this doorbell, but a lot of the features are unavailable when you don't have the whole system. It also was offline quite a bit. So disappointing because the camera quality and look of the camera is really nice. I passed my 15 day return policy because I got a wifi extender and really wanted it to work out, so now I'm out quite a bit of money. Save yours. Don't buy it. Simplisafe will only order a replacement.

    doesnt work. That simple. Constantly rings the doorbell. Pro electrician installed - doesnt work. Annoying. Try calling customer service and find that they will act surprised. Google the problem and find out its been an issue for four years! Well done Simpli Safe

      So sorry to hear that you had trouble with setup! Could it be possible that you have a digital doorbell? Unfortunately, our Video Doorbell Pro is only compatible with the more common analog mechanical doorbells. SimpliSafe

    Very Poor Experience

    I have Simplisafe for home security and very happy. Bought the Video Doorbell and had a terrible experience: 1) Doesn't work with dual band wifi (Netgear Orbi) with 5gz. Took a fair amount of research on the net to figure this out what the issue was. 2) I set up a separate 2.4 Ghz router as a workaround. Then could not get the unit to reset and accept the new code. Many tries but no luck. 3) After many tries I called Simplisafe Customer service.... several times. All I could get was "We have unexpectedly high call volumes" then I got put in a queue. No notice on wait times or any option for a call back. Finally gave up and returned the unit. 4) The hardware included was poor quality. Screws stripped easily. Saw on customer reviews this is common. Returned and purchased a Nest unit. Very simple install and works great.

    Do Not Buy SimpliSafe Video Doorbell

    The worst customer service I have ever experienced. Bought my parents a SimpliSafe doorbell camera as a gift - worked fine at first, but now they get motion/person at your door notifications but no video. Called customer service multiple times only to get the same demeaning, unhelpful service each time. So, doorbell still doesn't work and nobody willing to help us.
