    Liked the system until I canceled the monitoring last night. Now, they tell me I WILL NOT be able to get txt notifications from the alarm. No monitoring service, no txts alerts. What a scam

      Yes, SMS notifications do require an active Monitoring Plan. However, if you choose not to have service, and as long as you have WiFi at your location, you can still set up Push Notifications through the SimpliSafe App on your phone. SimpliSafe
