The speakers go out while I am listening and if I turn the unit off and back on again it will work some of the time but not others. Also sometimes while I’m listening it will become very static. I spoke with Sirius customer service and they tried to troubleshoot with no success and recommended I exchange it. I was not able to get an associate on the phone or even to live chat, they were busy. Ultimately I would like to exchange the unit due to the fact it is defective.

Posted .Sounds like the unit might not be receiving good line-of-sight signal from the SiriusXM Satellites. The Satellites are located over the equator, so please try and place your antenna in a south facing window with an unobstructed view of the sky. The SiriusXM radio you have connected to your SD2 will also have an "antenna aiming" menu item. Please see the quick start guide for your radio to see how to access the menu and select antenna aiming and use the live signal strength meters find the optimum location for your antenna.

With the antenna attached to the top, it will not receive a signal in the house. If you put the antenna in the window, #any window in my house) it works great. It has an external ac to dc converter box mid way in the power cord. It would be nice to have that built into the dock. Also, it would be nice to have a built in rechargeable battery. Eight D size batteries are to expensive to toss after only eight hours of use. The sound is great, better than expected.
