Their app requires a paid subscription to store video, keep that in mind before you buy this.

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had managed to run the v3 Cam under Bluestacks on my PC, but the v4 Cam requires Bluetooth for installation - a huge design mistake, since Bluestacks doesn't have Bluetooth capability and there is no reason why connection to Wi-Fi should require Bluetooth in the first place. My router knew the camera was there but the camera ignored it and continued to wait for a Bluetooth signal that of course never came, so it refused to connect and the installation failed completely. I don't normally want to run home cameras with my phone, but in desperation I tried that too and it didn't work either because the Wyze App is incompatible (Google says) with my (fairly new) Android 9 phone. (Wyze states the requirements are Android 9.0+ or IOS 15.0+, so I have no idea what the issue is). These are serious errors in the product's software design that should have been flagged early on and that should not happen with a legacy device like the Wyze Cam. I cannot fathom why anyone at Wyze thought that Bluetooth dependency was a good idea, or why they would produce an app that is not compatible with a perfectly ordinary Android phone.
