    Best Buy used an excellent contractor to wire, install and explain our new Honeywell thermostat. At the time of purchse, it was explained that the Geek Squad doesn't install certain items.

    Geek Squad Installation of Smart Thermostats

    Recently, we purchased two Google Nest smart thermostats, and we had them installed by the Geek Squad. The Associate who installed them might have been a sub-contractor of the Squad, but he was competent, took time to explain the operation of the thermostats, answered all of our questions, and was very customer-focused. We would definitely utilize this service again.

    The agent connected my new thermostat and provided instructions for use. He answered all my questions. He even setup my phone with the mobile application for the thermostat.

    The smart thermostat was properly installed. I was given some information about it I need more information about the thermostat like a instruction book, but I do not know where to find one.

    Marcus was very personable and polite. He installed the smart thermostat in less than 30 minutes, and went above and beyond to ensure we knew how to work it.

    Where Does This Wire Go?

    I give this review in hindsight. Shortly after the installer informed my that the smart thermostat I bought, along with all recommended accessories, was not compatible with my furnace, he proceeded to reassemble the old thermostat and left. Shortly thereafter, although the old thermostat worked fine (just wanted to upgrade to the convenience of a smart thermostat), it stopped working altogether. I called to schedule for the installer to return and see about getting the older thermostat to work again. When he arrived days later, he advised me he could only do installs, not repairs, and that I would need to call a furnace installation company to diagnose and repair the thermostat. I did so and the tech found a fuse blown in the furnace due to the installer rewiring the thermostat wrong. The tech replaced the furnace fuse and wired the thermostat correctly, and now I have heat once again.

    Great service! Installed an Ecobee 3 Lite for an older thermostat, which did not have a c-wire. Attached the included Power Extender Kit to the furnace to power the unit. The tech was prompt, knowledgeable and efficient. The charge was a bargain compared to what the HVAC company wanted! Thanks for the great job!

    I had had two Geek Squad installs on the same day. One for a wifi thermostat install and one for a home wifi install. Both installs were excellent! the Geek Squad guys took their time and made sure everything was running perfectly before leaving! Thank God for Geek Squad because I love technology but I can't install it :)

    Horrible experience. We bought from Bestbuy because we were Total Tech members which meant that we had the benefit of free installation. We bought about $1,000 in ring equipmet. The Bestbuy sales person was great. He scheduled the installation for the following weekend. Well, on the day of installation, the third party installers never showed after giving me excuse after excuse. I called Total Tech who said that they were looking into it and they would escalate the matter and that someone would call me back from Total Tech. Im still waiting for that call from three weeks ago. I was also told that i would receive a call from the store that i bought everything from. I never got that call either. I ended up installing everything myself. Cameras, doorbell, alarm system, retro kits and thermostat. Then I received a call three weeks later from Total Tech wanting to confirm my scheduled installation of my ring doorbell for tomorrow. You cant make this up. It was a complete disaster and apparently zero communication. I would give this review zero stars if it was an option.

    Had Geek Squad install a NEST Learning Thermostat, and the contractor that they used did an outstanding job. Very pleased with his expert knowledge and professionalism. Would recommend highly.

    Well, I don’t have you have a bed no more. Easy control things before you get home and save money. Even the text when I leave and adjust the temperature. Whatever you wanna do is all adjustable to your needs.

    They got my Next thermostat installed. Said it should take 30 minutes. It took 2 hours. They couldn't hook up my external thermostat or HVAC humidifier. Said I would have to call in a Next expert. Not for an addition charge, I don't think so! Should've started with next installers.

    I had Geek Swuad service to replace my Civic 2012 receiver with Apple play receiver.I had two appointments made with them. 1. To figure out what all I need and 2. Get them installed. Both worked great for me. I had by mistake bought the wrong car connector but they took it back and got the right one. I am happy with the result.

    Recently, i purchased the Ecobee smart thermostat for my home (during the winter). I had the geek squad come out and “install” the unit. A few months go by (past the 90 day window) and when i went to turn my A/C on, i dont have an option. The installer only connected the heat and when i called customer service, they told me it was my fault for not checking everything worked! If i knew how to install it, i wouldnt have paid for someone else to do the job. Customer service states the install was “successful”. I advised them “success” is when everything is done correctly and they failed the job. I was told they will not have someone come out to install it properly, unless i pay them again for a new install. Absolutely pathetic and a bunch of thiefs!
