They haven't lost a step
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After a long hiatus, Faith No More returns with their first album in 18 years, featuring the same lineup that performed on that album: Mike Patton, Jon Hudson, Billy Gould, Rody Bottum and Mike Bordin. FNM has built their reputation on having its entire ranks among the most highly respected musicians at their particular instrument, and to this day it shows in their work. Like the previous album (Album Of The Year) this album does feel a bit straightforward when compared to the adventurous, groundbreaking Angel Dust. But it's still the sound of a band that knows how to deliver the goods at this stage in the game, when they very easily could have phoned it in. FNM is not that kind of band, and thank goodness for that. A welcome album of the experimental hard rock that we've come to know and love from these guys.

Patton and the boys are back
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If your excited to hear Faith No More "Sol Invictus" and hoping its going to be just like the 1st album or the second album etc...you are not going to get it. As with all FNM albums this is it's own, completely original beast. This is not a singles album...this is an album that needs to be digested in whole. I really hope they stick around after their long absence to see what the next album will be bring.....guarantee their career has been very unique so I expect the next album to be just that...unique. Honestly I would have liked a heavier version of FNM on this album but it is truly a solid album front to back.

Amazing rock album
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Faith No More took the better part of two decades off between albums, but sound just as relevant as ever. Sol Invictus is a smart and varied album that takes the sorts of turns expected in Faith No More's post-Angel Dust era with the added bonus of pulling from some of their pre-The Real Thing sound. It's a unique album that's well worth any rock fan's time and shows that Bill Ghould and company still have it.

new album no limits
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Faith No More have always delivered and this album is no different. The only way this band could produce a new album was with no limits on their creativity. Every track is great and has the signature sound of FNM if they ever had a signature sound. From Superhero to Matador there is not a single filler track. Great return for a much needed band on the rock scene.

FNM is back-like they never left
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After a 19 year hiatus from their last release, Mike and the boys decide to release another stellar recording. Now having full run on his label Ipecac, no punches are pulled. Do I have any complaints? A minor one-it's short; rumor is that Roddy stated they recorded 25 songs all together-10 being on Sol Invictus. So maybe an EP or quick follow up will be at hand.

Another solid album
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At first the songs may seem simple and unimaginative, but as you listen to it more the whole album gross on you and gets stuck in your head. I have found that although it is a relatively short album, I can sometimes take a drive and realize I listened to it a couple times all the way through. A very solid effort from FNM.

Best of 2015!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have always loved Faith No More without being a devoted fan. I've heard stuff on the radio and my wife is a huge fan. This is the first album of theirs I've been able to buy as drops! Saw them in Chicago in May, very awesome show. They played a lot of songs from this! My favorite song is "Motherf*****" easily!

Good Stuff!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's great to finally hear some new stuff from Faith No More! This album seems a bit more prog-rock than their older stuff, so if you're expecting something that sounds like "Epic" or "Falling To Pieces" this isn't exactly that. Some of the vocals are a little deeper and harder to hear than would be ideal, but overall this album is pretty tasty!

Needs multiple listenings to appreciate!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After an 18 year hiatus FNM has returned with a new record. This disc is like their last two releases in that you need to listen to it a few times before you can get an appreciation of the songs. The songs won't jump out and grab you, but will grow on you if you give it multiple listens.

Faith No More triumphs in comeback album
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. On Sol Invictus, Faith No More's first studio album in 18 years they showcase that they can still deliver great music & an album that is worthy of the Faith No More discography. Highly recommended both for longtime fans & those who have just become fans since they reunited.

Amazing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Most of the time, when bands break up for a long period of time and then get back together and release an album, it's not worth listening to. This is not the case here. This album is amazing from start to finish. It's ranks right up there with Angel Dust and King for a Day.

After a long absence FNM is back better than ever!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fans of the Mike Patton era line-up will be impressed with their latest slab of music..with genre bending styles and musicianship unrivaled in the so-called 'rock' scene this new album delivers the goods and then some. Fans who know what to expect won't be disappointed.

They are back and as good as ever
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There is not one track on this album that is filler. Like all of the other Faith No More albums, there is a good variety of musicality throughout the album that only Faith No More could pull off. This is a must have for the casual fan as well as the hard core fan.

The kings of alternative return and its awesome
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Come on. Do you really think this album would be bad? 18 years in the making, for the most part, and they nailed it. NAILED IT. FNM cover it all from weird to hard to harder to soft rock and some in between. Its what fans expected and wanted. Long live the kings.

Best Rock Album of 2015
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Faith No More has still got it after all these years. Their sound and style is unlike anything out there, and that's a good thing. If you are a fan of their old stuff then do yourself a favor and pick this one up. You won't be disappointed.

Solid album
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was a solid release from a band I grew up my teenage years with. I enjoy mike Patton's side project bands but was thrilled to hear a new faith no more album every track will take you back to a previous album it's like a best of spanning their career with all new material.

A Blast From The Past
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Finally!!!! Awesome summons it up. Its almost like it hasn't been forever since they had a new release and they never lost a beat. Its unique from all the other albums they put out but it still has what you loved from back it the day.

Band reunites, and it works!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First album in 18 years, and the band hasn't missed a stride. Most of these older bands reunite, churn out the obligatory album, but it's throwaway. FNM has actually released an album that is more than a simple cash grab. Highly recommended to fans of the band.
