    Not For Working Out

These headphones are a true mix of positive and negative. The Positive: Great sound that comes through clear no matter what genre. They cancel out most, if not all of the surrounding noise. They have a nice design that rest on your neck when you're not moving. They can connect to Smart TVs The Negative: These are NOT for working out in, no matter the type of workout. When running, the fall to one side, and have to be adjusted constantly. When lifting weights, the fall off completely during a variety of motions. When playing a sport, they bounce around until the fall off. More often than not I have trouble getting them connected, and when I do, it takes more time to get them to stay connected. Usually I have to turn them on and off once or twice before they will stay on for a good amount of time. They don't have a great range. I'm talking 10ft and things get choppy. The battery life is iffy at best.

Nice product but has problems keeping connections

I would like to say that I really enjoy the Shadow headphones that I purchased but I am having a problem with single between my devices and my headset. I have a IPod 5th Generation running IOS 8.4 and a IPad Air 2 running IOS 8.4 and I have problems when I am outdoors with the single being lost. Normally I run my stuff off of ITunes and listen to my IPod which I keep in my pant pocket and when I am in a outdoor environment I will loose single or it will break up. The same happens with the IPad I will be listening to music put it in my backpack and will almost always loose the single or it will break up so much that I have to switch back to my regular wired headphones. When I am indoors I do not have the same single problem. I would think that there shouldn’t be much of a problem when the devices are less then 2 to 3 feet from each other. (ie. pant pocket or my backpack over my shoulder which is even closer.) The IPod seems to keep a single better then the IPad. I have tryed to contact Sol Republic about the problem but haven't heard back from them in weeks. Overall I like the light weight of the product, the sound and the construction but for overall reliability Id have to say Indoors great Outdoors ok.

    A Great Piece Overall

The Sol Republic Shadow Wireless earphones is a great product for customers who are looking for a pair of Bluetooth earphones to replace those arduous and lengthy wired ones. Especially common with most iPhone 7 users out there in the market currently, there is a need to step up the game on connecting wirelessly without the headphone jack. This pair of earphones are not only water and sweat resistant, making it perfect to match other water resistance devices like the iPhone 7. It looks really good too no matter the color, even the box has a nice touch and packaging to it. However, the sleek design makes it difficult to keep the pair around the neck when performing vigorous activities. This is due to the soft neck surround neckband that can be quite frustrating to wear on especially with a t-shirt; there isn’t an option to place them under the collar of a button down shirt at times. Those earbuds, although quite comfortable, they fall out easily during running too. Not to mention that it does not do well in any noise cancelling or noise isolation, they aren’t meant for that. The battery could last me up to six hours in a fast charge which was pretty sweet. It also allows me to switch between two of my devices seamlessly through Bluetooth and control my calls with the built in mic and remote. Unfortunately, I find the three button remote too tiny and temperamental to operate. Do not expect much of a quality phone call using these too, they excel in music audio only. Next on the most important part of the review, the sound of this pair is above average in my personal opinion. Depending on preference, this earphone works especially well on deep rich bass music only. It has a crisp clarity that sounds better than most wired earphones but not all. If you start comparing it with the wired Apple Earpods, it lacks the clarity, loud noise, and bassy music that the Apple Earpods could produce. Perhaps I have only been using Apple Earpods a lot before this to judge my experience but the Sol Republic Shadow Wireless is nowhere near a wired Earpods. Overall, they are definitely not for the audiophiles, but for pure audio listening they are right on the price. A good value for a cord free piece as long as you are not paying more than fifty dollars for it.

These are the best sounding Bluetooth in ear headphones I've heard. I've used the lg tone pros and the Jaybird bluebuds x and these sound better than both. They don't stay in my ears very well and they move around my neck quite a bit. They're not good for working out at all. The biggest problem I have with the Shadow Wireless is the fact that if you are more than 2 feet from your phone or your phone is in your pocket, they will lose the connection. I've tried them with different phones, android and iPhones and it's the same. Great headset if you don't move and you keep your head close to your device.

Really like to love these BT heaphones. They sound great, looks good and fit snugly inside the ears comfortably and without pain. But disappointingly, Sol Republic missed the most important part of owning BT headphones...BT RECEPTION! The BT signal of the Shadow is weak and sensitive to movement. I've tried 2 pairs and they both performed identically. It annoyingly cuts in and out when placed in the back pocket of my jeans while walking or doing other activities. I have to mention that there isn't a problem with BT signal when placed in front pockets. Took them on a 30 mile bicycle ride and it did the same thing the entire way. Mind you the distance between the phone and Shadow was just less than two feet from the inside of my jersey's back pockets. Other than that, everything is up to par with more expensive BT headphones. For those complaining about the collar falling off, look for an appropriate size S-biner or any closed type hook to hold the 2 wires together (see picture) keeping the collar from twisting/falling. Problem solved! My rating for each category. Sound 5 Fit 4 Design/functionality 3 Durability 4 Battery life 4 BT Reception 2 Looks 4 Call quality 5 Charging time 5

I would give it five stars if the way they fit around my neck was better. When you don't have the earbuds in, the whole unit tend to slide around from one side or the other and if you're not paying attention it will fall completely off your neck, I had this happen to me. But that's my only gripe, they sound really good and the earbuds fit good in the ear. So as long as you're listening with both earbuds in you're good, but if not and just have them hanging around your neck beware of losing them.

got this set because of sweet resistance, my 2 LG`s did not fair good with sweet, they do not work anymore.I mainly use bluetooth when I work outside, no cords in the way.So far so good, but the LG`s worked for a long time to so I d`ont know how long these will last. These Sol Republic wireless in ear headphones are not the best quality made, they tend to slip off your neck while moving around, forget about running or working out with them on. Sound isolation fairly good nocks out lawn mower noise maybe in half, better then my beatsX. Battery life better then most more expensive one`s, would I buy again, only if half the price they are now, maybe, I would only recommend with explanation to others and have them decide.

I must say, that the sound is amazing! The way that they look, very pleased. My issue was that if I were to move too much they would slip down and or around. These were designed to rest around your neck. I would often find them dangling or slipping down my back, pulling the earbuds from my ears. It happen several times, that made me return them. I am truly sad. Because they sound so good.

So I love the sound of the headphones and it has a great compact look. My issue is around the fit.. I had a pair of the LG tone prior and the weight at the end of the LG's allowed for the device to stay in place. With these headphones they don't have the weight to stay on my neck and often times I am readjusting to make them stay centered. Would definitely NOT work for a workout IMO

Sound is great, I love Sol Republic and have multiple pairs of their previous headphones. But if you're looking for wireless headphones to use while working out, these are not for you. They fall off constantly and are certainly not worth the hassle. If you just want something for basic day-to-day listening, it's a great buy and on par with the Beats by Dre.

Pros - Sound is pretty good - Connects to devices pretty quick - Thick wires prevents knots / tangling Cons - Short battery life - need to charge it every day (doesn't last nearly day) - Doesn't stay put if you happen to lean over (not round enough) - No Magnets at end of earbuds to help not hang when not in use

I am satisfied with these Bluetooth earphones. Cons is that when working out, sweat seems to make the earphones come out of ear. Another hing i find wrong is that you cannot replay a song by the control. You have to manually do it from your phone or MP3. But other than that, awesome earphones.

these wireless headphones are good. nice sound. cool design but one thing is wrong. they are too small in length for a big guy like me. if i get up or walk around, the headphones fall off my neck. if they were an inch or two longer, they'd be fantastic..

    Stylish but not functional

From early reviews of this product, I was expecting a great successor to the oft-seen LG Tone bluetooth headphones that I was well accustomed to. However, the Sol Shadow's major issue is that it slips off my neck. It's also relatively light, so sometimes it falls off and I barely notice it's happening. Not only that, but the lack of some kind of holster for the earbuds means that if you don't have both in your ears they swing around quite a bit. If you tuck the free earbuds in your shirt collar, the band is more likely to slip off of your neck. Not only that, but the battery life compares poorly to the LG Tone. I used to go almost two whole days before needing to charge my previous headphones and my usage was several active hours per day and standby up to 8 hours per day. I'd be lucky if the Sol Shadow would last more than a single day with regular use, I find that if I listen to them most of the morning (4+ hours) they will almost certainly be dead by day's end. If the Shadow was my first pair of bluetooth headphones, I might find them more impressive. Certainly their style is nice and the quality of the sound is superior to competitors. But practical considerations are king for me, and poor fit + poor battery life make this a purely average product. Not to mention their price exceeds the LG Tone, which I would much more readily suggest.

I had not worn earbuds in years due to the fact that every other set I owned would not stay in my left ear. (My left ear canal is shaped strangely, I guess.) I was pleasantly surprised to find that the SOL REPUBLIC Shadow Wireless Earbuds do stay in both ears, even when I'm fairly active. The sound quality is about what you would expect from earbuds of this size and weight. It is not phenomenal, but it is passable. My main issue w/ this set is it is really only designed for sitting, standing, and walking. Anything more intense, and the band either bounces (which is really annoying) or falls off (like if you are lying back). I recommend this set if you prefer the earbud form factor.

I purchased these to use during online tutoring lessons in hopes that the mic would be better than the one in my laptop. My students had a harder time hearing me than normally. I was having to nearly shout to be understood. The quality was the same when on a phone call. I was told that I sounded muffled. The mic may not be the best, but the sound quality was good. Outside noise is blocked well, and it doesn't fall from my neck. If you don't need these for the mic, then it's a good buy.
