Winters months nasty and not a-lot of sunlight. That being said, my solar panel has not charged my product since November. We are in January and i am changing my battery every 2 weeks. the app shows that the solar panel is connected and i periodically will wipe (clean)the panel but there is not a lot of sun light to charge the cam. It is inconvenient to go out and change the battery in 18 degree weather with snow in the forecast. But when i purchased during the summer months, I loved it. I never had to change the battery. The Solar panel did its job.

Extending the time between manual recharges of your battery is important when it comes to monitoring activity around your home.
Cold weather has unfortunate effects on lithium-ion batteries such as those used in Ring devices. As the temperature drops, these batteries begin to have trouble holding a charge and if it gets cold enough, they'll stop working altogether. As a result, at certain temperatures, the batteries in your Ring device may run out of power faster than expected and may need to be recharged more often.
It does sound like once the weather warms up, and the solar panel receives multiple hours of direct sunlight the battery is able to maintain its charge, which is great to hear! Allowed us to cut back to 1 spotlight cam battery and keeps the unit at 100% charge. Could do with a supplied method of cable management.

Even though I had two batteries, it was inconvenient to have to occasionally climb a ladder to remove the batteries for recharging. Then climb the ladder again to re-install them. The solar panel was easy to install and now I no longer need to charge the batteries. I have been using the solar panel with my Ring camera for over a year and it is working fine. Ring provides all the tools you need to install it right in the box!
