Has a very beautiful art direction, incredible music, and fun gameplay! However, the bosses can drag on for very long and there are little checkpoints between them. May be very difficult to some.

Pretty fun game. What i didn't like was my nephew just ran forward like you do in a six game but we were trying to find secrets and it would just spawn us up to him. You just float our if you do land he ran so fast it just would spawn you again. But single player is super fun and if you don't have s kids that rushes you can have a good time playing multi-player. I picked it up for $10 but it does in sale all the time for $20-25 and it's still a good deal at that price.

Sonic Superstars brings a thrilling mix of classic Sonic speed and modern twists to the Nintendo Switch. The game excels with its vibrant pixel art, smooth controls, and inventive new mechanics. Levels are packed with challenges and collectibles, while the cooperative multiplayer mode adds extra fun. Performance is solid, with minimal load times and steady frame rates. Fans of Sonic will appreciate the nostalgia, and newcomers will enjoy the engaging gameplay. A must-have for any Sonic fan’s Switch collection!

A Blazing Blur of Fun (Mostly): A Review of the Sonic Game Ah, Sonic. The name alone conjures images of blistering speed, dazzling loops, and a certain blue hedgehog with an attitude. For decades, "the Sonic game" has represented a promise of exhilarating platforming action, often delivering on that promise with a distinctive blend of momentum-based gameplay and iconic character design. While the series has seen its share of ups and downs, the core appeal of a Sonic game remains undeniable.

I'm tired of these reviews lamenting the missing strand and giving the game itself a bad rating. If you're upset about the free gift not being sent, rate Best Buy, NOT the game itself! You're doing a disservice to others that want a rating of the game itself! This game takes you back to your childhood if you were a 80's/90's baby that grew up playing Sonic on the original Sega Master System, but with updated graphics, new playable characters (Amy Rose, anyone ?), and just a welcome dose of nostalgia. Son and grandson had a ball playing it, and just about wore out my Switch pro controller!

They replicate the feel of the classic games very well, the levels are fun and the characters are all fun to play as albeit feel weirdly heavy sometimes. Unfortunatley the boss fights kinda stink and surprisingly the music is hit or miss with some tracks (the Tee Lopes tracks are fantastic though). Game definetly isnt as good as Mania or the classic trilogy and $60 is definetly too much but overall i had fun with this game despite its flaws. Looking forward to the future of classic sonic and sonic in general.

Disregard the reviews with people complaing about their pre order bonus. The pre order bonus shipped seperatley Best Buy made sure everyone was in the know, just read your emails folks. The game itself plays great on the switch. Level design looks amazing and all the characters add a unique twist to the game. This is a fantastic 2D game with plenty of bonus mini games and content to keep you playing for hours.

Better Than What I Heard, Good As I Thought

To be honest, I always found being a Sonic part of a very divided community to be extremely exhausting. Because of that, I will say to anyone who disagrees or doesn't agree as much, read at your own discretion. Anyway, I didn't hear too much about this game and anything I did hear, didn't sound good Personally so far from what I played, it is CRAZY. Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles are playable and that is a given, but Amy being playable and also being a lot more versatile than in games like the Sonic Advance games made her a lot of fun to play. I always loved seeing the other characters traveling with you in the background too. Doing something even Mario hasn't really done (If not, not the first one to do that then). I would definitely prefer this to have 3 acts and not only 2. 1 on one of the zones (which was underwhelming honestly. Should have had more than one like the rest of them). I like that Nack the Weasel (better known as Fang the Sniper, though Nack the Weasel is his original name from Sonic Triple Trouble and the name I prefer) returns, and it seems we got a new villain as well. I will say it's weird seeing Nack work for Eggman this time, as I would rather he be like a third party type of enemy like he was in Sonic Triple Trouble. Another issue I have, I'm hoping this will be the last time we get anything "Classic" Sonic. I was personally hoping for a brand new Sonic game that was 2D and focusing more on the current times rather than paying homage yet again to the 90s Sonic titles. However, I am willing to take what I can get, as I do LOVE this game.

Beloved 2D Sonic Style Game Here

A great love letter to the classic style of Sonic with a nice coat of paint. While it may not reach the level of adoration that I have with Mario Odyssey it's a close second. The gameplay gives a nice intermix of the original 2D level traversal and a new touch of unique levels for the newer gamers of the series. Also getting this at such a great price was a no brainer too and one definitely worth getting into any gamers collection.

Pretty solid game so far. Mixes 3d and 2d sonic elements. The game mostly happens within an open world (you roam and explore at your own pace) if that's your thing. Targeting and going fast is easy to get the hang of... I'd bet that speed runs of this game look pretty impressive.

A great return to 2D Sonic that’s very pretty to look at and feels like it should. Lots of characters with secret ones to unlock, in fact one of them ended up becoming favorite after beating the game. My only complaint is after finishing it would be the brutal difficulty especially with some of the later levels and there is no reason the bosses should be that long and hard (giggity) for a Sonic game.

Great game! Have been wanting this physical for a while. A lot of people seem to have mixed opinions on this one, but it was exactly what I was hoping for! A more casual and modern sonic with fun level design. Runs pretty well on switch.

Great game awesome graphics controls are good but its annoying when youre on a slight hill/decline and you cant run back up for a while. Gotta get used to the diagnals in this game. Otherwise worth the money (i paid $30 it was in sale) i wouldnt pay $60+tax for this title.
