This Is How Audio Should Sound

I may sound suspicious when talking about any Sonos audio system but they have impressed me every single time. This time is no different. Setting up was easy and I was expecting a great experience and again it did not disappoint me.
Power is a requirement for great audio and the Sonos Amp provides a lot of that. But that is not enough, a good amplifier does not cause static, hiss, whine or distortion and those are things not found in this Sonos Amp.
I am an audiophile and will find issues where most people won't. That means that I have heard family members say that they though that two different systems sounded exactly alike although I could tell the difference; but this time one of my daughters actually told me, "Dad, this sounds richer than" another amplifier we have, a different brand. And she was right. You don't need to be an audiophile to enjoy its quality.
My house is wired with Ethernet in the living and entertainment rooms. So the two built-in Ethernet ports is very useful. I didn't like that it uses only 2.4Ghz for Wi-Fi but it was not a problem for me and won't be for most people. Regardless, being able to control the amplifier with the Sonos app and use AirPlay are great.
I did look for something I didn't like but I couldn't find any. It is definitely a nice addition to an entertainment or any room. Totally worth it!

The technician who was sent to install the receiver was not knowledgeable. He left the job half done. His supervisor then came but too was not able to finish the job. It took Geek Squad 4 different technician to complete the work. Very disappointed by the service for the price they charged me

This product is great for those who want the Sonos experience and sound quality but maybe have a pair of old passive speakers they’d like to use instead. The amp itself is a small, sleek, and compact black box with just three touch buttons on the front. The rear includes two pairs of banana jacks for your speaker wires (included are adapters to secure bare wires), a subwoofer pre-out, analog RCA inputs, HDMI ARC, and two ethernet ports.
With the analog inputs you can connect a turntable, a CD player, or anything really. It does not have an optical input but Sonos sells an optical to HDMI converter for $25 on their website. For myself, I’m not using any of the available inputs but simply streaming music from the Sonos app. The app works like it would with any other Sonos device, allowing you to sync with multiple audio services such as Apple Muisc or Sirius XM. The amp also support’s Apple’s Airplay 2 protocol so it’s easy to send almost any audio from the phone to the, such as the audio from videos on Youtube.
I have it connected to a pair of older entry-level Polk Audio bookshelf speakers and at 125W per channel it’s producing some incredibly rich and clean sound. I had a big smile on my face as soon as I played my first song on it. The volume is loud enough to fill the entire house! Unfortunately, I don’t have an extra powered sub lying around or else I would have tested that as well.
Overall, there’s a lot to like about this amp. There's really not any negatives other than it is expensive and not going to be for everybody. For example, if you don’t have existing speakers and want a home theater setup you’re probably going to be better off with one of the Sonos soundbars. But if you are building a music room with custom in-wall speakers, or for the outdoor patio and want the simplicity of a Sonos system then this amp may be calling your name.

Easy to setup and use. For me I use this for outdoor speakers and love the convenience of being able to control this from my phone or by voice via an Amazon Dot I mounted outside in a covered area.
Sound is good, will depend on the quality of your speakers. You can run 2 pairs of 8ohm speakers with this.
That said it really is expensive. But I don't know of an alternative with the full functionality of this product.

Was told by Sonos Customer service I needed to buy Amp to add back ceiling speakers to my 5.1 Sonos theater surround only to find out after purchase can’t add additional speakers beyond the Sonos ones currently have as app doesn’t support it. For the price of the Amp and limited inputs/outputs and limited things it does definitely not worth the money. Sonos also needs customer service that actually understands their products and not an overseas call center that has no clue

The Sonos 250W 2.1-Ch Amplifier is an exellent addition to your home theater setup.
First, the build and packaging quality is very nice. Sonos packaged the amp in a small black box which holds the compact amp. The amp itself feels very high quality and can blend in on a shelf or be added to your audio rack.
Setup of the Sonos amp was very simple. I simply connected my TV via the HMDI input on the back, then connected two of my existing Sony shelf speakers via the included banana connectors. Instantly, I could tell a difference man what a difference that was. Now I just need a sub to add to the setup to get in on the bass action. The Sonos also comes with two RCA inputs for your turntables or other sources that you might have. If you'd rather stream from your phone, the Sonos App seamlessly handles that from almost all music streaming services. The clarity that this amp can make is remarkable and really transformed the listening experience.
In conclusion, I would very much recommend the Sonos Amp to anyone who is looking to boost the performance of their existing set of speakers. I can't speak for the "Sonos ecosystem," but I'm sure if you're looking at buying this Amp you are familiar with it and all the benefits it has.
Pros:
-Build quality
-Design
-Size
-Sound quality
-Features
Cons:
-Price (not needed for everyone)

DO NOT GET HUSTLED BY MAGNOLIA LIKE WE DID.
We thought we were dealing with Best Buy, who I once had a high opinion of.
Magnolia is nothing but contractors in Best Buy clothing. There has been nothing but problems since working with Will and Nick. Who have now disappeared into anonymity.
Were left with a malfunctioning system and a very very low opinion of BBY.

There was no one around to ask questions to. The items I bought (all Sonos) were spread over three isles (we found them accidently and DIDN't find what I wanted) with no lablels on the shelves. Will NEVER return to this store and will likely never purchase from Best Buy again.

Terrible. Nothing like the original product. Ongoing playback issues. Very frustrating. I even contacted the CEO directly, and still no resolution. After $1,000’s invested, no more SONOS for me. Stay away. They are not what they used to be.
