Produces great sound matched with Sonance speakers. It is a bit pricey but the integration of Sonos and everything always working makes it worth the price. I have two sets of speakers connected to each of the amps in the network.

I also own the original Songs Connect Amp, and this one is better in every way. More power, smaller footprint, looks better, etc. Love the new speaker connections. Makes it easy to wire everything up and then connect to the amp. No issues with the new design.

Great amp, but not an excellent open-box choice

I purchased an open box Sonos amp to go with my Sonos soundbar. It was described as excellent and looked like the box had been opened and then returned. It took some time to reset the amp back to factory settings and pair it to my network as it had already been paired to a different system. Once it was done, the amp worked perfectly. I rated the amp as excellent, as it is, but more testing / troubleshooting of the unit should have been done to return the product to excellent condition. I spent over an hour on the phone with Sonos customer service, almost to the point where Sonos said there was an issue with the amp. Thankfully the Sonos tech was able to correct the issues and I have a great amp for my rear speakers.

Great unit. I have this powering outdoor patio speakers and it pushes out quality sound. This syncs up perfectly with the rest of the house using airplay 2 and is super easy to set up. It’s on the pricey side but the ease of use make it worth it.

Not really enough power for KEF LS50

I'm using the Sonos AMP as an amplifier/music streamer and for the front channels of a surround system, along with a pair of KEF LS50 bookshelf speakers. I'm using a Yamaha powered subwoofer and a pair of Sonos Play:1s for the surround rear channels. This is set up in a normal-ish 250sq ft living room, with no special audio treatments. The LS50s are incredibly demanding in terms of power; the Sonos AMP kind of struggles to make a clear distinction between forte and mezzo forte, indicating that it just can't deliver enough juice to make the speakers happy. Lack of sensitivity is a common complaint about the LS50s, and I can say that the issue is real. You need to be able to give them MOUNTAINS of power to get the best performance, and unfortunately, the AMP delivers the Appalachians, not the Rockies. When used with less troublesome speakers, the AMP seems to do fine. It's handy that the AMP has an analog subwoofer outlet, for help with the Moog Taurus bass pedals on your famous prog rock album. The other features of the AMP are generally useful - the Apple Airplay 2 support is seamless and reliable, no drops when playing a song. The surround features are good, but would be better if you could use a Sonos One or Five as a center channel. It sounds WAY better than the TV's built-in speakers, but not as good as a dedicated 5.1 system (or even a Beam with Play:1 rears, like I have in the bedroom). Would be nice to have HDMI passthrough so you don't have to sacrifice an HDMI input on your TV to use ARC/CEC. Works fine with the optical to HDMI converter as well, though you don't get volume indication on the TV.

I like the audio quality of the amp. What I hate is the app. Before installing, write down and preserve the serial number and code, it's the eight-digits on the back.. Keep it in a safe place. At some point, you will need it after the app locks you out of the amp.

We installed a “Sonos” system 9 yrs ago. It is amazing.... the amplifier “died”. We called the original company (who was amazing at that time) now they have gotten “too big” for their own good. We just anted to ask what the flashing light meant. We called them and we went through a series of employees and we finally got to the root of their “answer”, they wanted us to buy a maintenance contract, at a mere $50/mth- this way they could answer any question. We were so upset!! We went on Best Buy and found this actual “Sonos” unit. What a blessing...my husband hooked it up in less than 20 minutes and it had more wattage, power and a lot lighter...and the Sonos was built into it. Absolutely recommend and get the extended warranty. Our system is much more powerful and sounds crystal clear at a very loud level-no distortion.

I purchased this amp with the recommendation of an employee who works at Best Buy as a member of the Geek Squad. How right he was. It fixed my issue when Directv upgraded my system which took away my ability for external pool deck speakers connection.Great sound and ease of use using our cell phones to operate with the Sonos app.

I bought this amp to upgrade from the connect amp and while my current Sonos sounds incredibly good this new amp has raised the bar! Speakers sound crisper and and fuller, set up was ridiculously easy, I couldn’t be happier with my choice!

I had already the Sonos Sound Bar and subwoofer which both sound awesome together. My place had preinstalled 4 speakers in the wall of the living room and was used from prior older receiver set ups. I Thought this amp might work well with the sound bar and sub and it really does! I just wired up both front and back on the respective left and right sides and it really sounds great and no big receiver boxes to hide. Set up was a piece of cake too.

Sonos continues to amaze with both design and quality. The sound from the new amp is top notch. I’ve purchase three for use with Klipsch speakers in different rooms. The app interface is so easy to use. Setup is simple.
