Love the new Sonos Ultra soundbar. Sounds is solid and full, fits perfect on our mantle. The subwoofer looks great (we went with white) and puts out impressive bass. For a soundbar system, it sounds as close to audio separates as you can get. Highly recommend and well worth the money (and I can’t always say that about everything I buy.

The realism is so impressive that sometimes I even rewind the movie just to check if the sound came from the film or if something actually happened in real life.

I haven had a new soundbar in 10 years. The difference in sound is amazing and the amount of bass this bar puts out is crazy. I can't wait until the sub gets here. I only have a 10 year old "inexpensive" Sony system to compair this to but, holy moly! Well worth the chunk you have to give up for it.

This bar does sound very good but after having a wired system I found that it just didnt hace the punch I was hoping for. I went back and got the Sub 4 and that solved the problem. I now have the Arc Ultra coupled with 2 Era 300's and the Sub 4. It really does sound great considering what I was used to after all these years.

I was not going to get it. I have heard this in other's homes and was not impressed at all. i listened to it in the store and compared it to other devices. For us, the voice clarity was the key. I have to say once it was installed, the sound is amazing.

This is my first Sonos Soundbar (I've had other brands--which were good, but took a lot more effort to get working with the tv). I'm so thrilled with Sonos!! The sound is rich and full. It was incredibly easy to install and worked without any fuss when I plugged it into my Samsung TV. The look/shape of the bar was what ultimately made me pick this brand, and I'm so glad I did. It looks great!

I upgraded my WiFi network to WiFi 7 and for some strange reason, my original Sonos Arc would no longer connect. So, I picked up the Sonos Arc Ultra to see if it would work and am I ever glad I did. Not only does it work with my new network, but the sound is vastly improved over the original Arc, which is no slouch itself. I was amazed by the sound stage and ambience produced by the Arc Ultra and the new details that I could hear in various soundtracks. The bass response of the Arc Ultra has also been improved dramatically and in a smaller room it would be more than adequate on its own. For the real deal and full earthshaking sound, I would still recommend adding the Sonos subwoofer. This combination is hard to beat. So, if you’re in the market for a new or upgraded high-end excellent soundbar, I’d highly recommend the Arc Ultra. It was chosen as the best soundbar of the year (2024) by one of the online tech magazines and, in my opinion, has certainly earned that spot. NOTE: Sonos released an update to the Arc that fixed the network connection issue for me, so I moved the original arc into another room where I was using a Playbar and retired the Playbar.

There simply is no comparison. The Arc Ultra is the best soundbar on the market. I paired it with two Era peripheral speakers and the subwoofer and I have a movie theater experience everytime I turn on the TV. Not cheap, but Sonos never is. But I say buy something quality once, not cheap stuff several times!

I’m a Sonos fan and have been for years. I have a Sonos Arc on the main television in my home. When the Arc Ultra went on sale, I read a lot of reviews about the Ultra and it seemed like most people didn’t recommend replacing your existing Arc with the Ultra because the new Arc really didn’t improve music quality. The only reason I did decide to upgrade was the voice enhancement feature. After adding it to my network and using TruePlay to tune it to my room, I have to say it is a great upgrade for us. A lot of streaming services audio is sketchy at times but I will say that the Arc Ultra has improved our ability to listen to the dialogue without as much distortion as we had with the Arc by just using the voice enhancement feature. Spatial music playback is great and adding it to my surround setup was fairly easy. I took the old Arc and added to our downstair’s space replacing a Bose soundbar. That was also a fantastic change!

Amazing soundbar! Its as close to surround sound as you can get. For best results, make sure that your phone’s Wi-Fi connection is on 2.4G so that the speaker stays connected with the app.

Before i purchased the Ultra, i had bought the new nakamichi shockwafe wireless 11.2.6. I had lots of trouble getting the sound to my liking with the nakamichi. I attribute some of that to the fact that it was just too much system for the space i was using it in. I sent it back and purchased the Ultra with 2 era300s. Wow! What a difference out of the box. The sound is much more natural and clear. The base is also fantastic without the subs and i dont see myself needing any subs for the near future. The nakamichi had great surrounds but the 300s with the ultra are a way better option for me. Immersive, powerful and clean looking. I love my sonos set up!!!!!!

I've owned many sound systems. This is my second soundbar. I run this in the living room and I run a samsung HW-Q990C in the theater room. I have B&W's I run for turntable listening. So from someone who has heard many systems, this one is good, not great. Im not sure what you the reader are looking for, but hopefully I can steer you in the best direction. The sonos has a few key advantages, its very simple and simple to setup. It has a long but narrow footprint and looks unobtrusive so it will blend well with decor if thats what you care about. It has decent sound and can get decently loud. I paired these with two sonos era 100's to fill the space in the living room, id say its a must to fill the void. And what I mean is, a soundbar pushes sound from one location, so your soundstage will feel concentrated to one area. Its just how it is with soundbars versus a dedicated 2.1 or 5.1, setup. Its physics, you can't change that. They try and fix this with side and up firing speakers, and it works OK, but it doesn't compare to a dedicated system. The samsung, which i dont want to focus on too much because this isn't about that system, gets much louder than this, but its also much bigger. If you are looking for a setup with bigger booms and room vibrating sound, and you have the space, the samsung is the direction I'd steer you. If you want the closest thing to a theater setup without spending $1000's of dollars, this ain't it. It will give you pleasant sounding music, good movie/tv audio, but if you want to throw in Top Gun Maverick and be blown away, this won't do that. I recommend a dedicated 5.1, receiver setup. Which all can be had at less than $2k. Well why the sonos then you may ask? Because the sonos is simple and clean and perfect if you have little ones running around causing havoc. I can't risk kids poking holes in my speakers haha. As soon as they are old enough, Im going to sell all of my soundbars setups and go back to loudspeakers, its just so much better. But for simplicity sake, its hard to beat these soundbar setups. And sonos has a great ecosystem and the app works well. Hope this helps!

    Marketing Hype. Myeh.

I don’t get it. With all the complicated set up and optimization routines combined with the marketing hype I should be happy as a pig in dirt. I combined this with their remote sub. Only the best for me and mine so go big or go home. I shoulda went home. Worst thing: The audio level imbalance for most any TV show or movie is horrible. If you set the volume to hear the voices when an action scene hits it will hit so loud it knocks us out of our seats scrambling to turn down the volume. After that we can no longer hear the dialogue. This is for all streaming services and DVDs (what’s that?). As an engineer I went through all the settings and used the automatic sound set up routine built into the system. This sound bar might be great for a frat house movie night, but not for your average quiet home den. Next Worst Thing: Volume is digital notching. The system is all digital, including the volume control. So instead of a nice linear volume level you get digital notched volume. So the lowest setting is zero volume but one click up is too loud for late-nite viewing while someone is sleeping. There is no control over this. It’s a very synthetic experience and rude. Next: The system cannot be used or set up without using a flaky app. No plugging this thing in and go. It needs to talk to your phone and more importantly to it’s mothership somewhere. If you have a cabin in the woods don’t expect for this $$$$ to do anything. Lastly: Don’t buy into the hype that this is the best I just set up another TV with another brand sound bar which was less than half the price and it works so good I am ready to dump my Arc Ultra and go foe something like that.
