Sonos - Arc Ultra 9.1.4 Channel Smart Soundbar with Dolby Atmos - Black

I’ve owned quite a few soundbars over the years, but the Sonos Ultra is on an entirely different level. From the moment I set it up—which took less than 10 minutes thanks to the simple HDMI eARC connection and the Sonos app’s guided steps—I could tell this was something special. The 9.1.4 spatial audio with Dolby Atmos is incredible. Sound doesn’t just come from the front—it surrounds you from every direction. Movies feel fully immersive, with action filling the entire room, and the Sound Motion technology places effects with impressive precision, making you feel like you’re right in the middle of the scene. Dialogue is crystal clear thanks to the AI-powered speech enhancement—no more rewinding to catch missed lines. Music performance is just as impressive, with rich detail, deep bass, and a wide soundstage that feels almost like a live performance. The design is sleek and modern, blending seamlessly into my living room without drawing attention away from the TV. Control is effortless as well—I can use my TV remote, the Sonos app, or voice commands with Alexa. Trueplay tuning made a noticeable difference by automatically optimizing the sound for my room. Streaming is flawless across WiFi, Bluetooth, AirPlay 2, and Spotify Connect—I’ve used multiple sources without any issues. I eventually added a Sonos Sub and Era 300 rear speakers, and the surround experience is honestly better than some theaters. I also love the flexibility of expanding to other rooms with Sonos for a full home audio setup. If you’re serious about home entertainment, this soundbar is hard to beat. The Sonos Ultra delivers a truly next-level audio experience.

I’m honestly really impressed with the Sonos Arc. The sound quality is on another level — super clear dialogue, deep bass, and it fills the whole room without having to blast the volume. Watching movies feels way more immersive now, especially with action scenes and surround effects. Setup was surprisingly easy and it connected to my TV with no issues. I also like how clean and sleek it looks — it doesn’t take up much space but still makes a big impact. Streaming music on it sounds amazing too. It definitely feels like a premium upgrade and worth the investment.

I bought the Arc Ultra as part of a bundle with the Sub 4 and a pair of Era 300 rear speakers. Setup was very easy and the sound quality is great, especially for music, Dolby 5.1, and Dolby Atmos TV/movie content. The only cords needed for the setup were power for each speaker and an HDMI cable between the Arc Ultra and my TV (included in the box). I already had the Sonos app on my Android phone from the other Sonos speakers I owned previously, and adding the new surround system was a breeze (fully guided in the app). The reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because even though the surround effects work well with the system, I don't feel like I get the level of height channel effects I was expecting from the Atmos content. That could be just my room/setup or the content, but I've tried various adjustments and following guidelines for speaker placement and such and just don't notice much difference in that area. Additionally, I'm a bit disappointed there are no HDMI passthrough inputs on the Arc Ultra like there are on some other soundbars, and to a lesser degree, I'm disappointed there is no DTS:X support. All that aside, I'm very happy with the system, and it works well with my Samsung TV, Roku Ultra, and Xbox.

Our son talked us into getting this upgrade. While my older SONOS SUB (assume Gen 1) works with this, the older satellite speakers do not, so will have to see if I need back speakers in the future. Replaced the old Optical input to Playbar with the HDMI with this new ARC ULTRA. Now the TV Remote works with the ARC, the old Playbar did not. Admittedly, I only have one good ear, but wife says she thinks sound is great. It sits under my LG CX77" TV. Kids, be smart, don't damage your ears so when you are older you can enjoy sound and new technological advances in audio!
