My existing stereo components are in my basement where they are connected to in-wall speakers and I was looking for a way to control them from the main floor. The Sonos Connect allowed me to do almost everything I wanted. I connected the unit to the tuner, set it to phono, downloaded the app to my phone and turned it on. After following the app instructions on setting up my music library I am now able to use my smartphone to play my entire iTunes library that is housed on my laptop through my in wall speakers. I can even play albums on my turntable! I am not able to control the cassette player or radio, but the Sonos app allows you to select different input so you can find just about anything you are looking for, and other than a few old cassettes, I can play anything I want and more.

Sonos works great as always. This let's me stream music to my sonos speakers and my living room surround sound as well. It also lets me stream/cast my local FM radio to other sonos speakers around the house. It will let you stream any audio to other sonos that can be plugged into RCA inputs. I was originally hoping to also be able to send my tv sound to other speakers with this but can't. This isn't a shortcoming of the connect but of my stereo. The connect only has RCA inputs; one red and white connection for L & R stereo sound. My tv/ cable box is hooked up with HDMI to my receiver and won't down convert a digital signal (HDMI) to analog (RCA outputs) through my zone two pre-outs. It will play it through Zone 2 speakers that are hooked up with regular speaker connections but not through the pre-outs the connect uses. I have a pioneer elite receiver and apparently pioneer doesn't do it on any of their receivers but maybe there highest end one. I guess this is more common on newer receivers so if you were planning on this for tv you will want to double check your receiver. The two digital ports on the back of the Connect (Coax and Optical) are for outputs only. If you receiver doesn't down convert HDMI, you will either need a sonos playbar or playbase with optical inputs OR a tv 3.5mm out plugged into another sonos speakers with the 3.5mm input to cast live tv.

The Sonos connect was just what I needed. I had and older Yamaha receiver that serviced the surround for my TV and also powered outdoor speakers. I wanted to be able to control the volume and music selection.from outside. Well, the Sonos did it just perfectly and allowed me to play my playlist from my iPhone as well as stream a vast amount of music from the Internet.

Sonos products are expensive, but they are easy to use and sound great.

Sonos system is the best music system and all its product are excellent.

If you already have some sonos equipment, this is perfect to integrate into the app. This is basically a "source" of music for your existing setup. The Sonos app is slick and easy to use, and the sound quality is great.

Sonos works great. If you have an amp just connect this as a source. And you get almost every steaming music source available from pandora, xm, and at least 20 others. Plus let’s you stream straight from your iPhone.

Turning your stereo or powered speakers into a wireless streaming device is easy with this SONOS Connect. This is my third Connect. Setting it up is a breeze and works right then and all the time. Never a glitch. I do love SONOS.

My house is wired with speakers in 4 rooms that are controlled by a Yamaha receiver. I picked up one of the Sonos one speakers and needed a way to merge the two systems together. Enter the Sonos connect, which allows me to control all my speakers through my Sonos One. It worked flawlessly and worked right out of the box.

Built a new house with in ceiling speakers and needed a receiver to power them. Bought a receiver and when the Geek Squad came they recommended Sonos. With Sonos I got what I wanted and more. Excellent product. Would recommend this to anyone.

Sonos has impressed me with every product they make. The Connect provides the ability to have Sonos on an existing stereo system. Simple to hook up, easy to operate, great product!

Great way to connect built in speakers to your Sonos system!

I realize Sonos is expensive, but, if you have decided to adopt Sonos, this is a must have. I was able to very easily connect this to my home stereo and instantly be on the Sonos network. I can now easily incorporate my personal older stereo in with my newer Sonos speakers and experience a very nice whole home music system that can be controlled mostly from my IPAD or Phone. I am really pleased with this purchase. I would recommend keep an eye out for open box deals. It is the best way to get the Sonos quality products at a lower price. I have purchased several Sonos open box deals and have not had an issue with any of them.
