this device turns any analog component and connects it to your existing Sonos system, however your component, like a turntable, requires a pre-amp on it. If you have an older turntable, it may not have the pre-amp, so please check. Our record collection streaming wireless throughout the house sounds just incredible.

I have three Sonos 1s, a Play 5, and now the connect. Easy setup like all the others. Only complaint are the limited options for hook up. That said, I made it work and can now stream the game throughout the house from my home system. All in about 10 minutes from in-boxing. As always, great sound and a great looking product wherever you put it.

We hooked this to an older receiver that we use for our outdoor speakers and surround sound for the tv. Very easy to set up the Sonos account, hook up is a breeze. My son and I did while my husband was traveling as a surprise for him. We had it up and running in 5 minutes. We love being able to control our sound with our phones remotely.

I bought the SONOS - CONNECT and the SONOS Play 5 speakers to add to my existing surround sound speakers. I bought CONNECT instead of BRIDGE specifically to work with the speakers I already had, but you pay a lot more for this flexibility. Set up was super easy. You can control with your PC, tablet or smartphone. There are other wireless speaker solutions, but SONOS is the most flexible as far as expandability and connectivity that I found.

I bought the Connect to incorporate my existing A/V system (a traditional receiver with two speakers and a subwoofer, connected to a 300-disc CD changer, Blu-ray player, 5-disc DVD carousel, and the "cable box") into my Sonos speaker system. This permits me to now listen to my music library from the A/V system (CDs, DVDs, music channels from the cable box) on the existing A/V system's speakers AND on any of the Sonos speakers I now have throughout the house. This is great because before I was limited to listening to my large collection of CDs in just one room where my CD changer and A/V setup was located.
I had been looking for a wireless speaker system, but Sonos is like manna from heaven because it is so much more than a simple wireless speaker system! So, I got exactly what I wanted for a wireless solution to extend my A/V system, but also everything that Sonos offers (its universe of music stations/selections, including your Pandora and other similar accounts).
Two things you want to make sure you understand before you get the Connect, however: 1) that you will actually be able to plug it into your A/V system in a way that lets you listen to whatever you want to through your A/V system. For example, your receiver will need an available line-out connection to push music into the Connect and to all of the Sonos speakers, AND you will need an available line-in connection to be able to use your A/V's speakers as part of the whole system (the latter is not required for functionality if you don't care about using it this way); and 2) the connect cannot actually control your A/V receiver or components - for example, I have to physically push play on my CD changer to start it up and the A/V receiver has to be configured properly for the components sound to be routed to the line-out connection going to the Connect. For these reasons, I strongly recommend you thoroughly review Sonos' online manual and its set-up descriptions to make sure it will work with your system the way you want it to.
Overall, a great product!

The SONOS connect was an easy way to add my existing home stereo system to my SONOS system. Installation was simple and took just minutes. It is connected to an existing and available set of speaker inputs on your receiver with either rca cables or digital--I used a coax digital cable. You can use the SONOS app to adjust the volume on your existing receiver; however, you must use your receiver remote to turn the stereo system on. Overall, easy and worth the $$!!

It took a while to get my tower, lap top, tablets, and phones to hook up to the sonos, but with a little patience and reading the instructions, the sound that I get out of my stereo system rivals that of being directly hard wired to a dvd player. I'm a little surprised, but very pleased with this purchase.

If you have speakers connected to an amp, this is an awesome way to control them via a phone/tablet app, group them with other speakers, control volume, and connect with either itunes on computer or web based music service such as Spotify/Pandora. Not the cheapest product, but well worth the price.

I love my Sonos set up, this was the first non speaker i purchased, I was a little skeptical about connecting it to an older tv surround sound system. In about 5 minutes i had the piece added to the sytsem and i was rocking along - Sonos makes home audio simpler than anything else.
thank you

Initially after purchasing the Sonos music system for surround sound on my TV and getting familiar with its features, I have found that I can purchase a Sonos connect and bring the entertaimment system throughout the whole house synced with Sonos features. ( playing music through my phone or Ipad)

My house has wired speakers through out the house connected to a receiver. I was using an iPod with Spotify for music with no remote control capability. The Sonos Connect allows me to use my iPhone with the Sonos app to control and select music anywhere in the house. Installation was a breeze.

I use this in an existing home theater setup with speakers already installed in walls for music listening during dinner parties. The quick, easy setup and effortless control really set Sonos devices apart from the competition. It's spendy stuff, but there are no headaches involved!

This is my second Sonos Connect. I bought my first one 5 years ago and had no issues so far. It is the most used component in my living room HT and stereo system streaming music all day long. If you are still on the fence, just buy it. There are many things you can do with this device.

The purpose of the Connect is to provide a couple different functionalities namely, audio input, incorporating your existing stereo, adding two Ethernet ports for your wired devices, and finally taping into a wide range of online music services. All of these are major features, but at a total cost of $350, each "feature" runs over $75. You would be hard pressed to justify the cost of this device, but there are very few other ways to add audio input to your Sonos system, making this a necessary bitter pill.
At the end of the day it does its job well and is very well built. I would have liked to see optical in AND out (only out is included). I had to buy a separate converter to change my digital audio source into an analog one, to be actually compatible with the device. A large oversight, for an other perfect device, save for the price.
I recommend it only because it is ABSOLUTELY necessary for audio input and it is your only option, other than the $400 Play:5 speaker.

The Connect allows me to use my 5 CD Player along with the streaming music available through the Sonos App on my iphone. I wasn't ready to give up my CD's and was having trouble finding a solution -- this is it!! Seamless way to keep CD's in the wireless, streaming music loop!
