This speaker sounds great. It was super easy to setup and add to my Sonos app. Took literally just a minute or 2 to add. I have other Sonos speakers so already had the app downloaded, but adding it is a breeze. What’s great is after you name the room you have it in and setting the bass and treble to your liking in the app - you are ready to rock, literally. Bluetooth connectivity was a snap and the Sonos app easily lets you push your music all over the house to this and other Sonos speakers flawlessly and in sync. I tried all kinds of music and whether it’s bass heavy rap, rock, alt, dance, acoustic, jazz, classical, etc. they all sounded great and it’s a significant sound improvement over the Sonos One. It’s a bit bigger (maybe twice the width) of the Sonos One but has a much more spatial and a “full” sound to it. One note on placement - I tried it on a kitchen island and the bass was a little underwhelming. Then I moved it to near a wall to let the rear of the speaker have something to bounce / reflect off of and that's the bass magic. So recommend setting or mounting near a wall or corner for it to really reflect off of. So far 2 cons for me: 1) There is no option for Google assistant. We’re a Google house and this only supports Alexa and its own Sonos voice control. That said – I can tell my Google Homes and Sonos One’s via their Google assistant to play music to this speaker. 2) The other is I’ll have to upgrade my Sonos home theater Playbar with the new Sonos Arc to take advantage of the 7.1 Dolby Atmos that this speaker can pump out. If you are just setting up your home theater and going with the Arc, you’ll be happy with these as your Atmos surround. If you just want this as a great sounding spatial speaker in a room it really fills it up on its own.

I like the product, I saved up for over a year and when I got the speaker it came damaged. Here’s a word of the wise when getting an open box item, there is no exchange option if no stores near you have model and condition, there aren’t any options but refund. Since I got a good deal from open box, I would now have to pay an extra $150 for a new one. I had to be passed along multiple support agents, mislead my multiple over the phone employees to finally be told the truth after spending hours on the phone. Its up to the stores descretion where a manager would not even listen to me but make another employee give me the news. No wiggle room, no empathy but the in store employee was very kind and did not try to mislead me. Be wary of open box.

Excellent speaker. That really sums it up. I am not new to the Sonos ecosystem. I found myself lucky enough to get a Sonos powered Sonance outdoor/maritime speakers set a couple years ago. So when the opportunity came up for this, I knew I would be getting a high quality unit with superior sound. And indeed I did. First off, Sonos is a brand leader in the upper-end consumer accesible speakers. They do one thing (provide excellent sound quality) and they do it very well. In addition to providing great sound, they always deliver a very handsome package that fits into most environments and decor. The new Sonos Era 300 is quite possibly one of the best sound-engineering designs available to mass consumers. They have included 2 subwoofers (left and right), 2 tweeters on either side and a center channel tweeter. They also included a unique upper firing tweeter that provides Dolby Atmos for directional sound. Pretty imressive design. One unique design feature that Sonos includes in almost every speaker they make is in the interoperability among the Sonos family. To put it another way, you could take two of these speaker, combine it with one of their several soundbars and then put a couple Sonos One speakers into one ecosystem to get a truly immersive Dolby Atmos television experince. Or use the same speakers as a room filling music system. IN this case, the Era 300 also makes for an excellent stand alone speaker. The lows are rich, accurate and smooth. The mids are crisp, clean and clear. The highs are perfectly delivered and clean in every way. In all, an excellent room-filling speaker in a relatively small foot-print. The Sonos app is simple, solid and inclusive. Most all popular music services are supported and the integration is a natural transition into the Sonos app. You can also custom ize the EQ on the app if you have a preference for sound set up. Controls are great on the device too. A "sliding" touch on top of the speaker for volume. Play/pause and FWD/BKW are also via touch on top. You can also turn off the microphone completely via a switch on the back. End of the day, this is an excellent choice for almost any residence. I would whole-heartedly reccomend to a friend!

    Great spatial sounding Speaker

My first Sonos speaker to try. Not bad..... Setup. Setup was a snap. Using the Sonos app, it took all but a few minutes. It updated the firmware and I was up and running. I also paired with Bluetooth with android for other app usage like other movie streaming apps etc. Alexa and Google integration was pretty easy to use as well. Only issue I had personally was trying to link to my my NAS with all of my music using the Sonos app. It could not get it to see my NAS. There is no good tutorials or other help out. There is not go to guide to get you through this. Spatial sound comes out from all directions. Range is really good. From lows to highs. Frequency blend and spatial use is good. I ran only using 1 speaker to watch movies and it held up pretty well. You can tell the build is good with the weight. Typically the heavier the speaker the better the output due to size of and density of the magnets. Size is good compact. Super simple operation. Color is nice. Black and simple design. Nice to be able to switch off mic. Optional to buy a sleek stand to mount this. Specs says it is humidity resistant. Wonder if that means you can take it and use it in your bathroom on the counter and use while you bath or shower. Obvious not in the bath or shower because it requires 110 Volts of electricity. You can pair this with their other system from what the specs say. I did not test this but if it can be paired with a center speaker and other satellite speakers, I can see this as some serious listening events from movies to music... Wished I could have tested a system out. For my first Sonos experience, not bad. Really nice speaker. It would have been nicer if I could have gotten my NAS to see the Sonos app. Oh well. Can't have it all. For these reasons I would recommend this product.

I have an Amazon Echo Studio that sounds great. I just wanted a little more for a bigger space, but not as big as a play five but bigger than a Echo Studio. So for an extra $250 on top of the $200 for the Echo StudioSonos I though the Era 300 was it. Sonos did not deliver. If you like bass. The echo studio sounds way better than the Era 300. The Era 300 has absolutely no real bass output.

To feel the difference between Sonos - Era 300 – Black and other wireless speakers, you’ll simply have to plug it in and experience the amazing next-level audio all around. The Dolby Atmos music is amazingly supported by six drivers placed all around the speaker i.e. to the front, side, and top to provide the Dolby surround experience exactly like we feel in a theater. Each driver is optimally positioned to remove any blind spots in the room, no matter where you are in the room, you’ll experience the same effects so there isn’t any specific sweet spot in the room, but the entire room becomes one. This is such an important feature that other compact speakers lack and is achieved by having tweeters on both sides and the center one provides the dazzling vocals and lead instruments to the sound effects. I enjoyed getting the high level of audio from each direction and getting immersed in the music. The design is unique in itself and doesn’t need to be hidden in the room and can easily be a center of room attraction. The speaker’s connectivity was easy and quick. It can be connected in multiple ways via WIFI, Bluetooth, or using an auxiliary cable. Each option is straightforward to connect with. It immediately connects and can be either controlled by the buttons on the top of the speaker or via the controls on the connectivity devices. What’s more, this can either be voice or app controlled. Overall, this is a great addition to my tech gallery and gives outstanding music experience from a standalone speaker and can easily be the path-breaking speaker in this category.
