Customers are saying

Customers highly value the One SL Wireless Smart Speaker's exceptional sound quality, ease of use, and relatively small size, frequently praising its seamless setup and strong bass response. While some find the price point to be high, many appreciate the lack of a microphone for privacy reasons. The speaker's compatibility with other devices and its sleek design are also frequently cited as positive aspects.

I constantly have reconnect to it via AirPlay when playing music. It’s embarrassing when hosting family and friends to buy such an expensive speaker that doesn’t work reliably.

Thanks for your feedback and sorry about your experience with Airplay 2 and Sonos. In general, if Airplay is losing connection there is something in the WiFi signal that is getting lost. A couple things to check would be the speed of your network and what else is connected while you are having the trouble. Additionally, if your Sonos One SL is far from the router or has other WiFi products near it there could be interference that is causing the signal to drop. You can also reach out to support through email, social media, or by phone (all information at sonos.com/support) to see if they can help you with the signal strength or anything else that is going wrong with your speaker. Thanks again for the feedback and being a Sonos owner! john.milton

After I purchased and spent hours trying to install it, I realized that Sonos 1 is not compatible with 5G. Exchanged for a Bose speaker that worked amazingly well!

Hi, and thank you very much for taking your time to review our products! It's greatly appreciated. We assume by not working on 5g, you're referring to the 5Ghz frequency on a router? We do use 5ghz, but only in home theater bonded applications (ie the rears that are bonded with a Sonos home theater product) The reason for this is that although 5ghz is great at reducing the interference from the 2.4ghz frequency, it lacks the range needed for a whole home solution. 2.4ghz gives us the range to comfortably fill your whole home with incredible sound and with the ability to select the channel your Sonos runs on via SonosNet, there really isn't a need to run all of our products on 5ghz. We hope you found this insightful and we're glad you're enjoying your Bose speaker! john.milton

Great speaker for a great price! Although we ordered two And only received one. The speaker is great but the service at my best was simply horrible they wouldn’t help be when I asked questions about when the 2nd speaker would arrive and were rude to me in store. So I canceled my 2nd speaker and got a refund

Warning: If you purchase a Sonos 'sound bar' along with this speaker, between the two you will experience an 'echo'-like delay. It was so bad I had to return this speaker for a refund. The sound bar itself provides decent, not fantastic, sound.

The Sonos One SL does require a WiFi connection to play music but there are dozens of free music streaming services that are supported by the Sonos app. Sonos Radio is included with your purchase as well as services like Pandora and Spotify that have free options for music playback. If you are looking to play music off of your iOS device the Sonos One SL supports Airplay 2 as well! john.milton

Sonos speakers require the Sonos app to playback music over your WiFi network. They don't connect directly to the controller as the computer inside of the speaker manages playing your streaming content. Download the Sonos app and follow the set up instructions for your speaker to play your music! john.milton

This is my first Sonos device. Now I understand why their products have such a good reputation. The One SL simply sounds great. Audio is clear, clean and crisp. The bass was powerful, yet distinct - and didn't muffle the other registers. I used the companion app for setup, but honestly I was able to send music directly to it from Apple and Android devices without the need for the middleware. The One SL is a bit heavy for its size, but delivers a punch - and at a pretty good price. Most importantly, the sound was so good, even my wife was sold on keeping it in the living room!

After spending close to $4000 on a Sonos system, I am so tired of it. The reliability of the system is less than subpar. I have spent countless hours with customer support to figure out the interface with my frame samsung tv. Apart from the TV, the sound system integration with Bluetooth/spotify/smartphone is totally unreliable. My expectation is set at such a low bar that "if it works" I'm surprised and excited. My advice, spend less money on a different system.

Hi, and thank you for taking the time to write a review. The Sonos One cannot stereo pair with Play:1 if that's what you're trying to do. We have not advertised it to do so as the acoustics of the speakers are substantially different. However, they can be grouped together to play the same sound at the same time as long as they are both running the same software. We're very sorry for the confusion and are happy to help with anything we can help you with. Please head over to sonos.com/support and reach out to us however you prefer. john.milton
