Customers are saying
Customers highly value the One SL Wireless Smart Speaker's exceptional sound quality, ease of use, and relatively small size, frequently praising its seamless setup and strong bass response. While some find the price point to be high, many appreciate the lack of a microphone for privacy reasons. The speaker's compatibility with other devices and its sleek design are also frequently cited as positive aspects.

AirPlay 2 is a deal *maker*
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have two Sonos Beams and the older version of the Sonos Connect. What I love about the Beams is the AirPlay 2 functionality. So, when I saw that the new SL got the same AirPlay 2 functionality built-in, I knew I needed to add it to my system. There's no need to go into the Sonos app if you have an iDevice b/c AirPlay 2 works so well. Though the Sonos app is nice, I prefer just going into the Apple Music app and AirPlaying to the Beams and, now, the SL. If you're a heavy AirPlay 2 user, the SL will work great for you. The sound is great, as to be expected. I don't use the built in voice services, so I won't comment on that. All in all, very happy with the SL.

One-trick pony doesn’t always do its one trick
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off, this speaker sounds terrific. It has solid bass and crisp, clear highs. Noticeably better than my Amazon Echo devices. My disappointment comes from the fact that it doesn’t have the ability to connect via Bluetooth or direct line-in/headphone jack. One way I had hoped to use it was for work events that take place on the outside of the building. They happen close enough for an extension cord, but not within range of the WiFi. Additionally, it has a tendency to drop the network connection, a fact I find unforgivable in a device that is made for the sole purpose of playing music via WiFi connection. If you’re only going to do one thing, at least do that one thing well. It does have an Ethernet port, so you may not have a connection issue if you plan to use it in the same room as your router. Bottom line, this speaker is a one-trick pony that doesn’t do its one trick very reliably.

Great little speaker.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great sounding speakers I have them throughout my house. Only issue is the new Sonos app is awful, had to get app support to help set up new speakers when old app was great and simple to use.

Poof went the bass...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to love the Sonos SL but the way the bass cuts off is a huge bummer. The Sonos SL has some very clean sound and gets louder than you'd need it to but the bass just can't keep up, and it's not because it can't. The first song I played was "I Ain't No Joke," classic Eric B & Rakim. Boooom Boom-Boom-Boom Boom Boom-Boom Boom Boom-Boom. Very nice! Deep bass, clear mids and highs. At this point I'm happy. So I turn it up to 50% Still sounding good. The bass tapered off a little but I understand because you can't expect too much from a small woofer. Then I turned it up more... Bip Bip-bip-bip bip ... Darn! Did I blow the speakers already. I hurried to turn it down and see if I broke the speakers. Dropped it below 50% and Boom was back, it eased back in so it seems to be software controlled. Raised it up and it drops suddenly to almost a clipped bass. The higher mid-bass freqs were fine but the lower just cut completely out. After fiddling a bit I set the maximum level to see if I can find where the drop off happens. It seems it's at 56%. At that level the low base just disappears. If you go to the EQ you can lower the base by -2 and it comes back. You'd expect that at 55% volume that the bass would just stop increasing and let the others continue to climb. You'd get at least some of the near sub frequencies, but as it is you get none unless you tweak the EQ LOWER to increase the bass. Odd they chose to do it this way. The sound is clear up until the highest levels where it just has a bit of distortion, but not overly distorted. I mean... it's good, but still, what happened to the bass?? I didn't do research before I got the Sonos SL an assumed you could use bluetooth as well as wifi & ethernet. Wrong assumption. I was kinda upset as the first music service I used was YTM. Using YTM through the Sonos app doesn't allow radio or continue with other random songs when you pick one song. YTM support seems rather new so there's time to grow on that. I found GPM and Spotify to work through the individual apps fine by playing through the Sonos. Mostly I won't use the Sonos app since no radio, but making a playlist from multiple services is a nifty feature. One thing I almost forgot to do (OK I forgot until after I cussed out the app) was that I need to turn of cell internet when connecting to an AdHoc wifi that has no internet connection. I have a Samsung S10+ and I have it set to connect to wireless when wifi internet is weak. So I kept failing to finish set up until I noticed the 4g icon showing up on my phone during set up. The Sonos SL has some pretty clean sound and using your network instead of bluetooth should allow you to play higher bitrate music cleaner. But the bass at over 56% is a bummer for me. Now listening over 56% is gonna be a rare thing but just knowing that drop off is just waiting there is a big downer.

Love the sound
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are the best speakers I've ever bought. I tried the Play 1 but couldn't justify the purchase without AirPlay support. The only difference between this and the Sonos One seems to be the lack of a microphone and Alexa features, which has never been something I've been interested in anyway. The system is not cheap, and they can be addicting! I bought one speaker and thought I'd like to buy more! For every room, maybe even more than one!

Great speaker no microphone
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sonos speakers have held up well for many years and the app and software are great allowing you to play almost anything through your speakers. Bluetooth is for mobile and Sonos wifi connection very solid with modern router. For those attempting to limit the number of microphones in you house the SL is a great option. Spend a few minutes creating playlists and you will not miss the voice command
