Although not in the hi fidelity grade, the Sonos Play1 is a very decent wireless speaker at this price point for listening to your music library stored on a pc or other cloud services. Bass quality exceeds many other brands and can be adjusted. Live worldwide digital radio programming can be heard without turning on a computer. Only drawback is archived materials from these radio stations or CD playback on your pc cannot be heard through these speakers.

If you don't have space for the Play 5, these make for a nice surround channel. In our home they do double duty for music. Sonos is a fantastic system. We have them throughout the condo and surround in the home theater area. Easy to set up with a smart phone. Easy to turn on and off rooms. Group the or use them individually. Only glitch I see is, when you move a speaker to a new WiFi, you pretty much have to do a reinstall.

I enjoy the fact that sonos is a system that you can keep adding speakers and have each one play something different. It's best to have two of the play 1 to make a rich surround sound. With the sub woofer the system rocks.

This speaker was very easy to set up and the quality is really, really good! It's small and compact and can be placed in any room.

I purchased 2 sonos wireless speakers to go with my sonos soundbar and subwoofer for a complete surround sound. I am so pleased with the quality and the sound is fantastic. The richness of tone and the crisp clarity can't be beat. When friends come over and hear the surround effect they can't tell where it is coming from. I have them along the wall behind the couch. they are small but have a huge sound. The setup is so easy. One two three and your done. I highly recommend these speakers.

I added the Sonos Play:1 to my office and will be adding two (2) more soon. Crisp clear sound with just enough bass for a home office environment. The seamless integration of the Sonos App allows me to play music, TV or audio books in all rooms at once and never miss a moment of what I am streaming. I can also isolate the sound just to my office which allows others to enjoy their own streaming activities in the privacy of their own rooms.

Easy setup and gives great sound for such a small speaker. Easy to move. I take mine outside to the deck

This Sonos sound system is everything I’ve been looking for in a premium sound system. Not only is it better than definitive technology, I want to put a Sonos speaker in every room in my home! I Love it!

Have each variation of the speakers and love them all. I use this speaker in my kitchen. It is small,and does not take up much space and it has great sound. Sonos in general is an great easy way to have music throughout your home

I purchased 2 of these for our master bathroom. The sound quality is amazing and it saved us the trouble of installing in-ceiling speakers. The Sonos app is very well thought out and easy to use. I highly recommend this product.

Nice sound for a single, average size room. Portable. Easy to set up. I have two Play 1s and like the feature that I can play the same music on both or play different music to each speaker on the network. Having a Sonos Controller on each PC, tablet and smartphone offers incredible convenience to managing the speakers no matter where we are in the house.

Already own a Sonos sound bar, woofer and larger romper speaker. This was purchased to add to the second floor. The entire system was so simple to set up. Now I don't have that annoying delay when listening all over the house!

The add on speakers were a good addition to the sound bar a base unit. Overall easy to set up and good sound.

The good news is that the old Sonos Play line of speakers are still excellent and for those super-concerned about privacy, still do not have any microphones. The bad news is that the recent redesign of the Sonos app to support the new Sonos Play One has made the new app all but unusable. For some insane reason, the focus of the app is now around grouping and you need to minimize the current player to access a icon bar along the bottom to access e.g. Rooms or Search. What used to be very simple to navigate now requires multiple clicks and it is far too easy to click on the room group at the bottom and think you can switch rooms (you cannot). I'm not sure about most users, but my family only groups/ungroups occasionally, but very frequently moves from room to room to room and wants to start/stop music in a given room - something that is now at least a four-tap process. Equally annoying is the new browse layout which defaults to large album art views for nearly everything, with certain groupings of sources in a horizontal scrolling list. While traditional simple lists of bookmarked favorites/etc. are still hidden in a deeper layer, the interface is bogged down with the need to preload all of these larger thumbnails and scrolling gets pretty laggy even on a new Galaxy S8. Hopefully Sonos will fix or revert these changes and make the app smooth again. Until that happens, the speaker is still top notch, but ease of use is diminished considerably, which used to be a big strength of the Sonos ecosystem.

Great sounding speaker with full tones and nice bass response. The Sonos system is an easy way to get music throughout your whole house or just one room. Set up is a piece of cake using your smart phone and the Sonos app.

So far I love everything about this little speaker. We started out with the Play 5 and have had some issues with defective wireless cards, but so far the Play 1 is perfect. I love how portable it is and being able to move it between rooms and floors depending on where I am working or relaxing (we don't move the Play 5 because of its size and expense; we bought it to stay in our living room). The sound quality is great, especially in light of the speaker's small size.

I purchased 4 of these speakers for my home and my we love them. When guests come by, they are amazed with the sound quality. If you want to wire (wireless) your house for sound, you better get Sonos...

The Sonos Play:1 speakers when combined with the Playbar ds that little bit of channel separation that was missing. Yes they only act as the surround channels in this configuration. The over all sound feels more organic though.
