Finally able to combine with our other sonos speaker for surround sound. Works best with the sound bar and another speaker. We used the single speaker for our bedroom to play music until we got the additional and moved it to the living room for surround sound.

If you buy just one Sonos, it will feel pricy until you get home plug it in, download the Ap, start it up and then when you hear the most amazing sound imaginable.... You will start planning where you will place the next one you buy! Worth every cent! Plug in anywhere, works off your wifi so no Bluetooth interference, with amazing base and crystal clear sound.

This speaker has a sleek profile, and the bass is rich and full. I will say I wish the speaker could act as a general audio output to whatever it's connected to. It seems that you have to subscribe to one of the many streaming services available to play music. This isn't bad because I do have Spotify, but what if I want to watch youtube videos and have the audio play through the speakers? These speakers can't accommodate that which is my only qualm. Dope speakers though.

Pulled right out of the box and with the bridge, it really was an easy set up. The sound is good. I have this one in my bedroom and a Play3 in my loft which is rather large. Both sound great. The ap is easy to use. Easy to link the two together. I like the number of music player options you can use with this speaker. On the ap, you can queue music much like a playlist. The only disappointment I had was that my iTunes music is not readily available unless you have it on an NAS. So, basically, I have downloaded from the cloud and it becomes available on either my iphone or ipad aps and then I can play what I want. I do recommend the ipad ap over the iphone ap. I have a 4200 SF home. Combining the Play 1 and Play 3 - I have plenty of sound everywhere.

You put these together with the playbar and it's sublime. Alone, it's still great and the bass you get from these small things is unreal. Highly recommend. I have the set for the playbar for 5.1, one in kitchen and another in the bedroom- which makes for an amazing alarm clock when you set it to whatever music you prefer.

I've been looking at the Sonos play 1 for the last month, decided to purchase and very happy. The quality of sound is exceptional

Purchased one Play 1 and a Playbar for my hubby. To create a home theater, one needs two of the Play 1 speakers which I had not understood. We can listen to music using both speakers purchased or either speaker. Daughter uses to listen to Pandora and loves it. Hubby wants a second Play one for the home theater set up.

First of all, I will say that the Play:1 sounds amazing. The sound is fairly directional, but with the right placement it's great. As the rear speakers in a surround sound system, I understand the use for these, and since I was told by the BestBuy employee that in a surround system there is no difference between the Play:1's and Play:3's, the cheaper price was an advantage. The thing I don't understand is where these would be useful outside of a surround system. They are too big, heavy, and tethered (power and/or ethernet cords) to be moved often. They only work with an ethernet/wifi connection - no bluetooth, no aux jack - so make sure you have a stable internet connection. The 1's also don't sound as good as the Play:3's as a standalone speaker. My advice: get two of these for a surround setup with the Playbar, or find a good portable bluetooth speaker. There's not much other use for the Play:1.

The Sonos Play 1 is understated every way, but don't let its simple design, easy set-up and functionality fool you. A pair of these small speakers will deliver a room-filling powerful, crisp sound to whatever surprisingly large space you have in mind. Or start with one and build as you go. Any way you look at it, no question Sonos is a Sound Investment.

Bought two of these to replace a similar Bose speaker as the Sonos was able to be paired in stereo mode while the Bose was not. The quality of the sound is excellent for the price point. The units were easily connected to the WIFI and the pairing was a snap. Very happy with the quality.

This is so worth the money. It's one of the best speakers out there for a small room that you can connect with other rooms which we have done. Love it!

We keep adding Sonos components to our system. Great sound. A lot of flexibility. We have had Sonos for years. If you can think it, Sonos can do it.

Performs far better than I expected for its size. Smooth, rich bass and crisp highs. More than powerful enough to fill an average sized bedroom.

Extremely easy set-up, delivers sound that is amazing for its size. WiFi connectivity works well and was no trouble to set up. Unlike many devices, the speakers quickly found the network and configured without fuss. Best feature is ease of moving them around to different rooms. Note that each requires an AC outlet, but not an issue within the house.

I'm new to the Sonos family. My husband and I have been researching for a sound system for a while. I'm glad we purchased this System and for Christmas I have bought 2 Play 1 as a gift to my husband. We are very pleased how easy it was to integrate to our existing Sonos System and how great it sounds. Now we have a surround sound in our bedroom and able to move the speaker effortlessly.

I added the Sonos two bags if you insist game and it only took a few minutes. It was easy to add any group and it sounds great !!

For a little speaker, the sound is great. To be able to use Pandora, iTunes and my IPhone and my IPad to turn the speaker on is a super convenience.
