I purchased a Play3 to go along with my new Play5 but realized it just couldn't match up with the larger speaker. It sounds good but I traded up for a second Play5.

The sound that the SONOS-Play 3 puts out is outstanding.

I STRONGLY RECOMMEND. I BOUGHT THE WHOLE SET WITH THE SOUNDBAR AND SUB.. IT IS PRICEY BUT 100% WORTH IT. I LOVE THE FACT THAT YOU CAN CONNECT WIRELESS THROUGH WIFI AND LISTEN WHILE TALKING ON THE PHONE!!

Sounds great, can't wait to complete my Sonos system.

I now own 7 Sonos speakers (Four 1's, two 3's, and a 5) plus a sub and a Playbar. The sound out of each of them is excellent with full tonal range. The Play 3 can fill a moderately sized room with great sound. A larger room would benefit from two 3's or 5's but that depends on one's taste and the overall acoustics of the space. I combined a sub, the Playbar and two Play 1's into a surround sound system for my 75-inch Ultra 4K TV and the experience is beyond what I had hoped for. I switched from Bose to Sonos about a year ago and am very glad I did. The flexibility, ease of setup and technical support provided by Sonos are all top notch. Definitely recommend.

Better bass than the Sonos Play one. Good response without excessive reverberation.. No significant distortion. Coordinates well with the rest of the Sonos system.

I love my Sonos speaker. It was easy to setup and start using right away. Anything connected to our wi-fi can play music through the speaker. The only disappointment is that I can't Spotify (at least the free version) with it. But I can play any of my music and iHeart radio and others like that. Couldn't be happy with this purchase!

It was very easy for my daughter install the sonos ap to our phones and notebooks. Enjoy listening to music anywhere in the house. We plan on expanding the system soon

I purchased two Sonos Play:3 speakers in conjunction with the Sonos Soundbar and woofer. I have an open concept home with kitchen/dining, family and media rooms all on the same level. This combination gives me the richest sound experience I could ask for. Whether watching movies or listening to music, the quality of the sound and the ease of the app are fantastic. The Play:3 speakers are set up as a L&R pair with one in the kitchen and one in the family room. The two rooms are separate by just a short wall. So the stereo separation sounds fantastic. When I turn off the soundbar and woofer in the media room and use this pair for music, they deliver great range including a full base sound.

I have many Sonos speakers, so I am a fan, but I keep wondering why the 3 series never had auxiliary input (like the :5) or a humidity resistant shell like the :1s. Got these on sale which suggests Sonos will be releasing an update - maybe with Alexa like the One? We'll see... As for the other quirk, the app gets updated A LOT so don't expect instant use from the speaker when you want it - chances are very high you'll have to accept the app upgrade before you can use any speaker the app controls. Annoying? Yes., but thus the 4 stars and not 5.
