Many appreciate its compact size and the strong bass response, while the wireless functionality and straightforward setup are also frequently praised. I was trying to find a speaker that did not auto shut off to pair with my Echo dot. As this does not have an auxiliary in, this did not work for me. lucky for me the Play 5 does so I returned this and got the 5. The than that Im sure this is a nice speaker.

I've been using various Sonos products for a few years. I thought the 3 would be an upgrade, and really, it isn't. I would stick with the 1's, and/or look a that 5 (which I have not used). But I found no value in extra cost for the 3.

I wanted to like it, but it took almost an hour to get it connected to bluetooth and get firmware update. The sound was just ok. I updated it to Heos 5 and it soooooo much better

Decent speaker but I returned it for Bose Soundtouch 20 which connects via WiFi and Bluetooth. This speaker does connect to Sonos soundbar which I was planning to buy, but I think I will go with a different soundbar too.

Purchase 2 of the play 3's and returned them in a week. I love sonos but in prefer the play 1's way better. To me they had better sound and def not worth the extra $100

I would highly recommend skipping the Play:3 and getting two Sonos One’s instead. One’s work with Alexa and can be turned into a stereo pair.

I am a big big fan of the sonos line. I have 3 of the play 1's, a sound bar and a sub. The play 3 let me down, it doesn't sound any better than the 1's, I wouldn't spend the extra money on this again.

I own all the original sonos equipment: 2 Amplified and 3 non amplified zone connects, along with the sonos soundbar and wireless subwoofer. I've been promoting sonos for many years and probably sold more equipment for them than CNET. Loved the sound of this speaker at the store and thought it would be a good addition to a room where this was my only sonos option. After 2 hours of trying everything in the manual I returned it to BestBuy. I no longer have patience for things that are not plug and play. The original was and it's a shame it's not anymore.

I really don't like them. Bought for living room. Constantly have to regroup them on phone or computer. Soundbar is good but can do without the speakers. Don't work unless the tv program is in stereo.

I was very disappointed in the Sonos products. We bought it as a sound bar for our new 4K HDTV . It will not read DTS sound as we could not get the benefit Dolby sound with BluRay disc and Sonos.

In the store I was convinced that the Sonos 3 would give me the sound quality and convenience I wanted at home. But when I got it home I was a little disappointed in the sound quality.

I've bought the Sonos Soundbar, Sub, and multiple Play 1 speakers. So far I'm happy with all the equipment. I still wanted more sound though. Needed it to be louder, so I bought the Play 3. I didn't think it sounded any better than the Play 1's. For the price difference between the two, I thought I would be getting much more for my $. Maybe I just got a defective speaker, not sure. I've read good reviews on them, but they didn't impress me one bit. Buy more play 1's they sound amazing!

I own a number of Play5s. This is first Play3 for me. Sounded good on store but just doesn't measure up to the Play5. Maybe in a smaller room it'd be better.
