    Not so easy to install

This was a total pain to figure out. I know it says easy install, but my router is no where close to my computer and software needs to be installed. I think I ran up and down the stairs 5 times to see if it connected. I ended up returning it for two reason which were my fault: 1) it is not rechargeable - needs to be plugged in. 2) no bluetooth, so when out by the pool my wifi signal would probably be weak? Ended up buying the bose with bluetooth and rechargeable battery and love it as it can go anywhere and work.

Thought I would add a Play 3 to my Sonos Soundbar and Sub .... all it does is go "in and out of sound". Meaning while I'm sitting here watching the NCAA tournament it's continuing to stop producing sound for 5-10 seconds. I've been on the phone with Sonos and they couldn't diagnose the problem. Maybe I just got a bad unit. Either way I bought the protection plan so I'll be returning it for a new one. Because when it works it works very well.

Spend the extra dollar for play 5. I found a stereo pair of play 3s still didn't get the depth that one play 5 did

If a Play 1 isn't enough... I would recommend a Play 5. It's well worth the extra money!

If it works great out of the box it's fine, my Play3 didn't. Linking with echo dot continues to be a pain. Sonos help lines are only open weekdays, apparently when people listen to music and set up equipment... Weekend technical support for customers is not a Sonos priority for those of us that also work during the week.

I thought I was getting an upgrade from the sonos 1, WRONG! Fact is you're better off getting the newer sonos 1 instead of spending upgrade money on the three. It lacks the power, bass, or room impact like other sonos models. My advice, save money and get the play 1 or pony up and get the play 5.

    The best speaker EVER

I first fell in love with SONOS in 2012 or 2013 when i saw a Janelle Monae commercial for SONOS. I thought the concept was pretty cool and they looked nice too. When I tested it out in Best Buy the one speaker got really loud and I was really impressed with the bass without buying the subwoofer. When I took it home and set it up, I fell in love even more. Because the speaker is connected to your device via Wi-Fi, it does not interfere with your devices sound. You can receive phone calls, video chat, do ANYTHING without affecting the music. The sound quality is phenomenal not to mention the fact that you can manage music for different rooms (or speakers) on the same device. So play your Pandora in your bedroom while listening to Spotify in the kitchen and you have something else playing in your backyard. Mix it up! Do whatever! These SONOS speakers are the best thing ever! Can't wait to buy my sub!

Great way to expand Sonos system

I am a huge Sonos fan and the Play:3 keeps up the rep of the entire family of products. Assuming you're adding to existing Sonos system: take it out of the box, plug it in, turn it on, press mute+vol up, and you are good to go (total setup ~2min). I use (2) Play:3s to add 2 additional zones to existing Sonos system with ZoneBridge, ZonePlayer 120, and S5. Use whole system to stream Spotify, Rhapsody, Pandora and Napster, as well as NPR via IheartRadio and also connect to NAS to play from music library. Great sounds, no cables/wires, great coverage throughout house. Build quality of Play:3 not quite as nice as Play:5 (fka S5), but still solid and higher quality than most consumer electronics. Sounds great. Sonos is expensive, but if you're looking for wireless system and streaming, it's great value, and Play:3 is excellent.
