Will need solid wifi for sonos to operate solidly, but other than that it works flawkessly.

This one requires another cord to be purchased, you can’t just use the optical cord especially if it’s a newer tv. Returned it for the bar.

The convenience and simplicity of the Sonos 5 is nice but I was a little disappointed in the overall sound quality when I got the speaker home and set it up in the room. It still sounds pretty good but not exactly what I expected.

I bought this Play:5 for my master bedroom to test it out, and it is amazing. The only issue I have with this speaker is the price tag, but you get what you pay for. This single speaker fills my entire master bedroom and master bathroom with sound, at only half volume. I currently have my living room configured with the Sonos Boost, Playbar, Sub, and two Play:3s. Once I save enough for another Play:5, I will be moving the Play:5s to my living room as a stereo pair., and moving the Play:3s to my master bedroom as a stereo pair. If you don't have any Sonos speakers, I would definitely recommend this speaker to start you out. It is more than powerful enough to fill an entire room by itself. I have a Spotify account and anytime we are not watching television or sleeping, it is streaming music.

Great sound if you can keep it working. Not well thought out, the bluetooth system. Had to have it replaced due to a bad bluetooth.

I became a Sonos customer about a year ago by purchasing two Play 1 speakers and have been very happy with them. Once the Play 5 came out a month or so ago, I decided to move the two Play 1's elsewhere in the house and to purchase a Play 5 for the living room and I'm so happy that I did. It's actually hard to believe both the manufacturing and sound quality of this speaker. Every time I listen, I'm amazed that it can sound so incredible. The set up is easy and fast, it works well with the iOS app on your iPhone and will compliment your other Sonos products nicely While Sonos isn't cheap, I believe the Sonos Play 5 is a "Sound" investment!

Sounds great but I feel isn't very user friendly to someone that has never used a Surround sound before

It wasn’t the sound I was expecting considering the price, but that’s ok.

I was excited to see that this speaker was coming. However, the excitement was dampened by the fact that we had just two months ago purchased the "old" Play:5 speakers. I did some research before buying and took a leap of faith of reselling my old speakers to replace them with one Play:5 2nd Generation. The verdict? One sounds as good, if not better, than two of the older generation. While it would be great to eventually create a new stereo pair, it must be said that the sound quality is amazing. What's more is the bass from a single speaker. The bass rattles the room really well. It's not a replacement for the Play Bar and Sub combination, but it does a great job. When you're not looking for window shaking bass, the vocals and instruments are very well-represented. I am very glad we made this investment and appreciate the work Sonos puts into their products.
