These speakers are worth every cent. Two sets of play 5s will kill bose speakers

Excellent quality in this Gen 2 speaker. I now have 2 Play 5's, 2 Play 3's and a Play 1 throughout the house. Fantastic sound streaming room to room. Easy set up, seems expensive at first, but really - in terms of near audiophile quality - isn't.

This speaker is so powerful, that I’m worried if I get another one it will be too much. It was super easy to set up. The Sonos app that you have to have download is so easy to use.

I spent several hours researching various speakers up to the $500 mark and ended up with the SONOS play:5, after hearing it in person. I also liked the Bose SoundTouch 30, but it lacked the low end that the 5 has, likely due to the fact that the Bose has one woofer to the 5's having three. I also liked the Denon HEOS 5, but never got to hear it, since the Best Buy I went to was not a Magnolia store. Just outside of what I wanted to spend was the Bowers and Wilkins Zeppelin, coming in at $700. I couldn't justify the price for only barely discernible better sound. I was shocked by the heft of the speaker as well. Its small footprint made me think it would be five pound lighter, letting me know it is of excellent build quality. I also didn't like how bulky and tall the Bose was. It seemed like it'd be harder to stash in various places as decor changes. If you're on the fence about getting this speaker, and your budget allows for it, I don't think that you'll be disappointed. However, like everything in life, we all have different tastes. I consider myself an "Audiophile" and don't skimp out on my audio components though, with my living room system costing over $3,000. I was skeptical with it being my first SONOS product. My only gripe is the lack of Bluetooth, but I knew it wasn't there before purchasing. I just don't see the need to exclude the option.

Spent a long time checking and double-checking reviews before making this hefty purchase. But to prospective buyers I'll say: take the jump. The sound is just stellar - far better than I would've predicted, even from the reviews. Heck, the packaging and reveal have got their own mojo! Lovely weight to the product, too. Just to be clear: you've got to be comfortable having phone or computer as a de facto 'controller' for this unit. And you will need to surf the app required for setup to adjust EQ settings; as another reviewers has said, THIS is what makes the unit come alive. Play:5 is a superb listen from Björk's weird electronica to Beethoven to hard grunge.

Love my SONOS system overal (have several players) but by far the Play 5 provides the best sound quality. Bass is also very good for its size.

i was a bit skeptical about sonos at first. i came up on a amazing deal at work where i bought a bunch of them to test them out. To put shortly I'm in love. the play 5 is amazing i cant stop listening to it! it covers highs, mids, and of course lows very well. I have an old Harmon Kardon Bluetooth speaker which is amazing but the play 5 out matches it in every aspect. another thing i love about the sonos system is how easy it is to set every thing up.

The sound is clean and loud when u need it. Bass is good as well. Very easy to setup using the sonos app.

The amazing thing about this system other than the exceptional sound quality is its ability to get software upgrades that make is better, with added feature and sound quality. The amount of music from numerous sources is staggering. The best part, it can be added to other Sonos speakers to create a whole house alarm clock the gradually raises the volume instead of jolting you out of bed at full volume.

I have been using a Sonos system for years and am very happy with my decision. My only complaint was that the sound quality of the Play 5 was not what I had hoped. After reading reviews of the newer unit I bought one and it is a few notches above the original in sound quality and I am happy to have it to add it to the system.

Amazing, granted I had the kids set this speaker up initially( wished I would have watched) . In a short bit we were playing, they left ,I had a snafoos with my phone and had to reset my sonos connection had a problem called support couldn't have been more helpful. Fantastic, I am purchasing another play 5 soon.

Sonos really has the done an amazing job with their speaker technology. This speaker sounds amazing. Depending on the size of your home or room, you can pretty much get away with having one speaker vs. a stereo set. The interface is managable, but not the easiest, in my opinion. The one thing that this speaker lacks is Bluetooth connectivity. I understand that bluetooth compresses the audio signal and really isn't HI-Fidelity, it is still decent. And sometimes you may want to play a song that resides on your phone, or stream your youtube videos from the speaker.

I was looking for a speaker I could put out on my deck for parties but bring back indoors afterwards. This speaker fits the bill. I love the sound as well as the versatility of the SONOS app. Great product!

Sonos has always been a favorite of mine , i have a play 1 as well and the play 5 is just the most amazing speaker i have ever heard, as usual set up is very simple but the sound quality of this speaker is just amazing, buy it you will not be disappointed

The SONOS PLAY 5 delivers great sound in a small package! I love how it's capable of playing anything from your own music library to Pandora, Spotify, radio stations, and more. I love how you can control it from your phone, iPad or computer. It's been literally life-changing for me. I have music playing almost all the time now. The only reason I dinged it a star is because the app's interface is not terribly user-friendly. Still, I plan to add a couple of SONOS PLAY 1s to my system.
