Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the Play:5 Wireless Speaker's superb sound quality, ease of use, and strong bass. Many also appreciate its straightforward setup and attractive design, although some find the price to be high. A few users noted the speaker's weight and some compatibility issues with certain devices. Overall, the positive feedback on audio performance outweighs the negative comments regarding cost and compatibility.

This was so easy to set up with another Play 5, a Playbar, a sub and a Play 1. Plug in each component to a power supply, plug an optical cable into the Playbar and TV, download the Sonos app and follow the simple instructions. The app will also walk you through all Sonos components you have. The sound is full and rich and the app is easy to use. Although expensive, the sound quality is top-notch and the system is versatile and easy to operate. Very easy to play the same music throughout your house, or different music in every room.

I got a pair of play 1's for Christmas and love them. Had to see what the top of the line sounded like. I love the 1's and really love the 5. Gonna get another play 5 when budget allows. Use these speakers pretty much all day every day.

I chose this Sonos Play 5 speaker over the Bose Soundtouch 30. I’ve always been a loyal Bose listener until I heard this at a friends house. Crisp, clear sound and perfect touch of bass. The bass is what set this apart from Bose. My only complaint would be that there is no Blue Tooth connection. Not a big problem as long as you have a good Wi Fi connection. I will be purchasing a second speaker soon and fill up another room with Sonos sound. I would definitely recommend this speaker. Sonos ROCKS!!

I have two sets of Play 1's and obr set of Play 5's. They are super easy to set up and control with the iPhone app or laptop. Easy to control volume in every room separately. Best wireless sound system hands down. The ONLY reason that I did not give 5 stars is due to the price, they are spendy, but worth it.

This is my 4th Sonos product to date and probably the best sounding one also. I own 2 pay:1's for my Bedroom & Bathroom along with a sound bar for my TV and now the Play:5. It hit's all the Notes from Low to High at any volume level.

Was recommended this speaker by my son. I have been a Bose buyer for many years and was hesitant on switching brands. After reading reviews on the Bose Speaker system and the poor reviews about the APP performance I decided to gamble and purchase the Sonos Play 5. I have not been diissapointed. The set up was simple, the app performance was spot on and the quality of sound that the Play 5 puts out is incredible. I would highly recommend. My next purchase will be the Sonos Sub Woofer to enhance the base performance.

Purchased 3 wireless speakers, three sizes - for kitchen, den, and living room. The largest of my three speakers, this one in the living room, completes the circuit of superb sound. The controller app is easy to use. Soooo pleased!

Best wireless speaker in the market. Sound is crystal clear and the app is great. Plus sonos supports almost every music app out there and their hardware will also support the new Airplay 2 coming out for iOS.

I am an amateur audiophile; I don't need to have the best of everything and I certainly don't bring in experts to tune the acoustics in my room. But I do like my music to sound really good. I come from a family of music lovers; we don't turn on the TV very often, but we always have music playing pretty much nonstop. II had a really great Bose system that finally aged out and died on me after 12 years, so I started researching. Sonos kept coming up in my research because I knew I eventually wanted a whole home system (without the messy wiring). I wasn't sure which model to get though. Initially, I was leaning towards two Play:1s because, well, price. I did a ton of research and everything kept pointing me towards the Play:3. I have a large family room with a vaulted ceiling; I needed something that could pump out a good amount of sound to fill the space. I went into the store and tried them all out. I ended up coming home with the Play:5, which was more than I wanted to spend. I tried the Play:1 and it was okay. I wasn't blown away, but it's only $199. I would have used two of them for stereo impact, but I was really disappointed with the lack of lows and bass. The Play:3 was better. And then I turned on the Play:5 and it was over. Beautiful sound and balance. vocals are clean and precise. Highs, lows and mids were all clear and supported, even at high volumes. Daddy had come home. I've had it home for a bit now and I can honestly say that this is pretty much the smartest decision I've made probably ever (sorry, honey and children). I could have settled for a less expensive model, but the sound quality on the Play:5 is far and above that of the 1s and 3s. This thing is AMAZING. I've almost gotten use to how good it sounds but every time a friend comes over, they are mesmerized by the clarity and sound quality. This is a little pricey (at least for me it is). But this is a solid investment. You won't regret. And, if you do, you're probably a little too fussy for me and we can't be friends.

In speakers I look for crisp sound and that exactly what I got here. I also like the line-in functions. I attached a Bluetooth adapter and now my Sonos system can pay anything and that my friends is awesome.

New SONOS Play 5 Still the best ALL AROUND!

I agonized over buying the NEW Play 5's (HI-FI, CD quality) OR the BLUESOUND Pulse 2's (HI RES quality). The Play 5 has more dynamic range (even though the Pulse 2 is said to have more fidelity), and it was much cheaper, so I bought a stereo pair. After many hours of scrutiny, I've decided I love these speakers! The stereo separation is grand, the low end is all the bass most people would ever want, and, when you stream TIDAL or CD quality files, the HI-FI playback is clear and simple as the truth. Norah Jones was on stage in my living room, which is a big room to fill. The Play 5 is good enough for an entry-level audiophile--if not many audiophiles--for sure. Plus, I went to a nearby Magnolia that demos the Play 5 and Pulse 2. The Pulse 2 came off a bit messy to me; the Play 5 does a better job of showcasing the highs, mids and lows. The Pulse Mini actually had more transparent sound than the Pulse 2, but it is too small. The Play 5 has the best combination of scale, clarity, affordability, ease of use, streaming service options, power, design, and support of any all-in-one, streaming speaker. I have had a SONOS ecosystem with CONNECTs, PLAY 1's and PLAY 3's for some time, and I'm glad I stuck with them. SONOS is here to stay for quite some time, they will continue to update and support these Play 5's, which makes them future-proof even without the HI RES support. Besides, HI RES vs. HI-FI is not as important as quality amps and speakers versus lesser quality. And the SONOS is good quality--just as good a physical speaker as any other streaming speaker on the market, it plays CD quality superbly, and I look forward to all the great updates to come...

This is now the 10th Sonos in my home, and clearly the best. It is on par with the best from Bose and similar, with deep bass, clear mid tones, and articulate highs. Complements my :3 and :1 extremely well.

Your looking to add sound to a room or whole house but the thought of wiring your whole house is expensive and time consuming. Enter the Sonos series of speakers...From the 1 to the 5 these things are flat awesome. Deep rich sound in a small package. I've had a couple of the Sonos 1's for smaller rooms and an office and decided to get the 5 for the Livingroom area....WOW is all I can say- Booming base, clear sound and perfect wifi sync to others in the house. Buy one and you will not be disappointed.

Great sound! I Hooked up a pair of these to a Sonos soundbar. Works well and no speaker wires! I will probably get the sub in the future. The Sonos app really opens up the possibilities of what this system is capable of!
