This sucker packs a punch. My husband wanted surround sound but I didn't want all of the wires everywhere and buying the individual Sonos speakers would have been too expensive. So we decided to give the play bar a try once we heard it in the store. It's amazing! Great sound and I like the slim design that allows you to place it on your mantle or mount it under the TV. We have a wide open room where sounds tend to echo but the sound stays crisp and you don't need it at a high volume to hear everything well.

The sound quality is amazing and the device is very user friendly. I am happy to get rid of wires and not reduce sound quality.

Even though it is quite expensive this soundbar is worth every penny! It puts out amazing sound and i have found myself turning my head to the side thinking that a sound has actually come from there. The downside to this soundbar is that it's NOT 100% wireless, i have to have it hard plugged into my router in order for the rest of the system (2 play 3's and subwoofer) to work...also, i have basic cable TV therefore i tend to watch a lot of standard definition TV channels, i've had issues with it dropping sound on occasion but i have since switched my Tivo setting and it now works fine but some of the quality is lost because it's not dolby.

This playbar does not directly support "true" 5.1 surround sound...however, I have a samsung tv that automatically decodes the signal to the appropriate level to use the full 5.1 surround sound. Most tvs do not have this capability, but some blu ray players do have this (mine does as well), so if you can "actually" tell the difference between "real" 5.1 and coded simulated 5.1 surround sound and you don't have a tv or bluray player with a decoder then this might not be the soundbar for you. For me, it was perfect and I already love the system!! See below review for other sonos system parts. You only thought you were an audiophile before you owned a sonos player/system. I find myself agreeing with one review I found online...that sonos speakers make you feel like, "yes, as a matter of fact, we could use a speaker in this closet!". Once you buy one, you will probably end up with many. I currently have 5 play 1, a connect and playbar. All are amazing!! Some things are not built in features (like the ability to play any app you want over the speakers--as in through bluetooth for example), but a simple bluetooth adapter plugged into the connect makes the whole world your musical stage. These players allow you to connect your music stored on your computer to any speaker in the house, allow you to access it remotely if you have it saved to a sharable folder. Really I can't say enough good things about sonos and the two negatives I have found so far, are far outweighed by the ability to listen to my old records through the system, listen to tapes, cds, digital music files, and loads of streaming radio apps. The controller is a simple app that works through a phone...really, other than the bluetooth problem, which I have rectified with a bose bluetooth adapter hooked to my connect, and the inability of it to play audio being played on your computer throughout the house on the sonos (which I have also rectified using the jamcast app downloaded to my computer), I have had only good experiences with my sonos's!! Have I said that I love this yet? Cuz I do!

Great sound, easy installation. Paired with 2 Play 3 speakers. Sound is so good, not sure if I need a Sub or not. Might be a pricey addition with little additional benefit.

A bit pricey, as are all the wireless Sonos products, but was well worth it. It took up very little space, looks greats mounted below the TV & produces incredible sound.

The playbar combines an excellent sound quality (in my humble opinion, above that of Bose) with a tough to beat easy setup. Tech oriented or not, the setup is dummy proof and takes less than 5min which compared to that of Bose...well, let’s just say they’re night and day. Back to sound quality...simply superb. I own several Bose products and even bought the Bose Soundbar and tested against the Sonos Playbar myself...I can easily say the Sonos sound quality is far superior in all counts (plain streaming music, live TV, and movies in both Blue Ray and 4K Streaming).

It was Sonos or Bose. Went with the Sonos and very happy with my purchase. Super easy set up. Awesome free App for music. Great sound. I added the sub and play 1's also.

Play bar sound is really crisp and can really crank if needed. Great design and quality. Huge improvement compared to tv speakers. Awesome surround sound from a single source.

I love Sonos speakers. I have two Play 5's and they provide outstanding sound quality. I had been wanting to get a Playbar Soundbar for quite some time but delayed my purchase hoping the price might drop. I finally the bullet and added the soundbar to my LG Smart TV. The sound quality is great. The only downside is that I cannot use my Smart Remote to control the volume. I have to use my Verizon Fios Remote. I have not been able to find a work around to avoid the hassle of needing two remotes.

I wanted a sound bar to go with our new 65" TV. This was the perfect choice! I did not want a sub till I gave this a try with out one. We are very pleased with the low end from the sound bar! My music also sounds great with it. I have over 500 CDs that I'm now enjoying again! I do plan to add more speakers throughout our home over time. Very easy to set up over wifi! Do it! It's worth the money.

I am blown away by the level of quality and attention to detail put into every product built by this company. Even without the SUB, It has great bass and crystal clear audio. Full range. A lot of speaker companies would not dare mention HiFi in this day and age with there slapped together speakers. Sonos has taken a different approach and it is working! I have this hooked up to my LG B6 OLED and Apple TV 4K (both purchase at Best Buy!), and it really completes the package! Movies, games, music, you name it. It all sounds amazing! Sonos. Period.

Bought this along with a sub and they work great. Easy set up and linked into my existing Play1s. Replaced an LG sound bar with this and the difference is amazing

Sonos is miles ahead of other wireless systems, such as Bose. Sound is incredible.

The sonos play bar fit perfectly inside my entertainment system. The sound quality is excellent. The wireless capabilities of Sonos speakers are outstanding.

One of the easiest setups I’ve done in awhile. Sonos is the real deal. Very easy to navigate the Sonos app and most importantly great sound!

I needed a new sound system for my condo and had strong preference for wireless. This sound bar is plugged into my LG OLED TV and also works from my iPhone and Alexa. Sound is excellent and Sonos system is perfect for me and my non-technical spouse. I will likely add speakers - love the convenience and sound!

Purchased this and one of the Play 1 speakers after having a home theater consult. Set up was easy. Did find out that consult cost reimbursement is only available when purchasing through the individual that comes out the house which was disappointing since I couldn't recall the guy's name. Husband and daughter love the play bar. Daughter uses it to listen to Pandora and hubby uses it with the TV most often. Wish I had understood that one needs a two Play 1 speakers to pair with the play bar to create a home theater set which is why I purchased the play bar to begin with.

The Sonos Playbar is quite good and even borders on very good with one exception -- it's quite expensive for a solitary speaker. After hearing the Playbar in conjunction with the subwoofer, and noting that several wired competitors include the sub for a similar pricing point, it's hard to justify paying so much for just a single speaker. Still, set-up was a breeze and sound quality is very good. It's not completely wireless b/c it's connected to your TV via an optical cable (and an AC cord for power, of course), but this unit still connects with other Sonos equipment seamlessly.

So far we are enjoying the speaker and find it nice that we can use just the soundbar by itself. We also have a play 5 and plan to add to our system as we can.
