For most people, this piece could be the entire stereo, and they would be happy! If you are looking for high end, I would look elsewhere. But convenient, fair price, and very user friendly! Most people don’t need it as loud as others.

The sound from this speaker is a major improvement over the sound of the speakers on the television that I paid same with and it was reasonably east to set up.

Sonos Playbase is very cool solution as the centerpiece of your sound solution. Very well crafted and sound quality is impeccable. Pricey, no doubt. Worth it though.

All of the Sonos products have great sound and are very easy to set up and use. I have several all over the house.

Excellent quality, sound, and feel. Pretty easy to setup. I moved and had issues with WiFi, I found out if it’s not connected to WiFi you can’t listen and use. That was not great to find out. Pretty expensive vs Bose

Upgraded my sound bar and love how the Playbase blends in with the TV seamlessly. Sounds great too!

I paired this with the subwoofer and two play 3 speakers to create a home theater. The sound is incredible. Unlike my previous system, there is no rattling sound when the bass sound is loud. As great as the system sounds when a movie is being played, it really shines just as brightly when I have chamber music on, playing softly. I only hope Sonos can work something out with Apple so that I can play my iTunes library without using AirPlay. I had to transfer my library, much of which consists of uploaded CDs I own, to Amazon to get around this.

Looks and sounds great. Very simple setup. However, at this price, I would expect a power outlet in the back to accommodate other components/TV.

This was easy to set up and install the sound from the system was phenomenal and I can feel the vibrations in the room is if I had a subwoofer.

I was looking for something to go along with my TV and my present Sonos system. The sound bar just did not fit into my arrangement. I was pleased when this came out. The sound quality and night time and speech options work for me (I admit to not being an audiophile, but like my music). I am very happy. Interesting note for sporting event parties, when you want to set up multiple TVs on the same game/station. You can group your other speakers with this base and stream to other rooms so the sound is in sync to other TVs, Just an FYI.

We had a Sonos coundbar with a subwoofer in the past. It was sold as part of the sale of our house. We now have an apartment and much smaller living room. This Playbase Spoundbase is excellent for a small space. I do not miss the subwoofer at all. Off course, i downloaded the app to all phones and i-pad so I can easily control Sonos with my devices . Best Buy recommended this over the other cheaper soundbar available especially because I had experienced Sonos in the past. I am glad I took their advice

I went back and forth with the idea of the Sonos Soundbar and the Play Base and in the end went with the latter. Both deliver excellent sound, and when properly pair with other Sonos equipment, make a killer surround sound system. The decision to buy the PlayBase was more drivien by where the TV was going to be placed in the room and the angle of the sound bar. A companion product (BUT NOT MADE BY SONOS) should be the Sanus swivel base--coupling the PlayBase and the TV eliminated a lot of wire fishing and the sound is superb.

I ended up returning the Sonos playbase and buying a Bose SoundTouch 300 sound bar. The Sonos was a good speaker, and its functionality is fantastic. The Sonos App dominates the BOSE App. The ability to stream music over wifi is fantastic on the Sonos. The styling is gorgeous as well. But the speaker just wasn't that great. Was it better than my built in TV speaker? Yes. It provided some decent performance for high tones and impressive performance for mid and low/bass tones. But I think the Sonos would be better for someone who wants to play it loudly, but doesn't want to upgrade to a full stereo surround system. My priorities are clarity and wide sound range at a low-mid volume. And the Bose is simply better at that. In almost every other way, the Sonos wins, but in the category that matters most to me, the Bose is better. So I was willing to deal with the Bose app, stupid remote, limited functionality, and bluetooth dependency, because TV shows and movies, particularly the dialogue, sound much better than they did on the Sonos. However, if you need to actually put a TV on top of the speaker, the Sonos of course is the better option. And it is a good option, but for the price, I think it should "wow" you more. The speaker is worth more like $250-300, in my opinion.

I was a bit apprehensive about sinking $700 into a TV speaker but I am glad I did! The Soundbase is much more than just a TV speaker and it intrigantes nicely with our other Sonos speakers. The sound is awesome for voices as well as for music. If you don't own other Sonos speakers then it may not be a great deal, but if you do it's a great addition.
