great sound and easy set up. This speaker is a great addition to any TV.

Where do I start? This is probably the best purchase I have made. The sound is absolutely amazing and tying into my WiFi we can listen on all of the Sonos Speakers throughout the home. We added the Sonos Sub, Play 5, Play 3, Playbar and Play 1 for that whole home sound that can't be matched. If you're on the fence...jump off and take the dive you won't regret it. (In my humble opinion!!!) Seriously a great investment.

The Playbase sound quality is lackluster unless you add a subwoofer, and that doubles the already high cost. I already had two PLAY;1s for the rear channels or that would have been another expense. Then there are a lot of gotchas for connecting source components to get surround sound. The only input is digital optical, the assumption being that you would connect HDMI components to a TV and use the TV digital optical out to connect to the Playbase. But not all TVs have a digital optical out, and many, mine included, do not pass 5.1 surround sound through the optical out. Playbase doesn't support DTS surround (many DVDs) or Dolby Digital Plus (used by Netflix). So you have to depend on the TV or some other component in the source chain to convert these formats. There are workarounds such as HDMI to digital optical switches and conversion settings on the source components, but at added cost and loss of flexibility. I have several rooms with Sonos Connects and Sonos Plays that were set up in minutes, but it has taken weeks to get the Playbase to produce good sound from a TV, Playstation, and Amazon Fire TV.

Crystal clear sound with deep base even without the sub. Must buy for smaller apartments.

the unit was easy to set up and sounds good. We purchased a new audio cable for it because the sound cuts out. It still does that with the new cable so we have more troubleshooting to do.

So, I waited over a year to pull the trigger. 1st, this thing is built like a tank. It has a 75lb capacity, which should allow for most modern OLED and thin bezel LCD TV's up to 65". It is limited in the type of connection for audio, optical digital, so make sure you TV supports that. So while its limited, it makes connection easy for the non-audiophiles. The SONOS App is easy to use and work with the speaker(s). The sound quality on this speaker is good, and fills the room its in rather nicely. Going to be adding the subwoofer and a couple of Ones to make a surround set-up.

Very good sound, not the same as a full surround sound system but this comes in one box. Required direct line to my router to setup. Once setup the app is pretty ez to use.

Sounds amazing for both TV and music streaming. App control intuitive and easy as pie to use.

The sound on the play bass is so warm in full it has way bigger woofers than your typical sound bar making the voice deep and rich not to centered and tin like. The ambience around capability of this is impressive. So easy to use. Yes It only connects through Adobe optical cable which is no big deal I think the overprocessed sound from Dolby atmos content isn’t that great anyway

The sonos playbase puts out amazing sound in such a small form factor with minimal clutter.

I have two small sonos speakers and a sonos 3 as well. The fiber optic only hookup works with my cable box but not with my Samsung tv which has some crazy adapter that came with the tv that I bought five years ago. Since I don't have premium channels on my cable box, I haven't been able to watch a movie. I ordered the part from Samsung and hope to have it Friday. In the meantime I love the way it sounds when he plays music and it's clarity when I watch TV through the cable box. Sonos customer support is outstanding and the ease of use of the app make it a homerun. Looking forward to properly hooking it up.

Sounds great. I’ve owned 3 sound bars and this is definitely the best. Crashed during setup so it didn’t sync right with my tv - the volume is different every time. Sometimes 7 is too loud, sometimes I have to be on 80. Tried reinstalling and other tips from internet but nothing has fixed it. When it gets too bad I just unplug and replug everything and it all works well for a few days. A nuisance but I’m willing to deal with it - for my setup this is still the best option.

Great sound experience. Easy setup. Alternates easily between TV and IPhone music.
