    Sonos Port Review

My MDC associate highly recommended the Sonos Port and I gave it a shot. Luckily I had some Best Buy rewards to use as it, like most other Sonos products is overpriced. I connected it to our older Pioneer receive and it works pretty well...

I purchased the Sonos Port to streamline connecting my various music services including PC music files to my home's media system. The product is very easy to setup and configure with the various music services as well as any network connected music source.

I bought this so I could use my turntable with Sonos. I couldn't have been any easier. Connect it right to turntable and you are done. I called it "Turntable" and that is how you find it when you are browsing - choose Line-in - Turntable

Very good product but quite expensive it is cheaper then the sound bar if you’re trying to do a Sonos system plus use an existing receiver

I bought the Port to replace an Apple AirPort Express. The AirPort drove me crazy - streams would just stop without any obvious reason. Not so with the Sonos Port. Just hook it up, follow the steps on the app, and BAM! Music! News! No drops! Yay!

This product works to connect your not smart hardwired speakers, cd player or phonograph and amplifier to the internet and to other Sonos speakers in your house. It was hard to set up though. It took me about 5 hours on the phone with Sonos tech support. The router they said was somehow not compatible with something and there ensued a lot of troubleshooting and coding changes. They did get it to work but it was not the way i intended on spending the day after Christmas. Another problem is that the interface between the Sonos app and the Alexa app is not good. When you add spotify to the mix, it does not work seamlessly. I bought this to help my elderly parents set up a smart home. So, it does work but it's not plug and play and it is a little buggy interacting with Alexa. I don't know of a better product. I saw that Amazon makes a thing like it called link and that could likely resolve the software issues if you used echo as your internet speakers. As of now, Sonos speakers are better so we went with this product.

Love this product. I have this connected to a Marantz receiver. I also have a 4K Apple TV. I bought this product because I plan on buying other Sonos speakers so I can play multiple levels of audio in different areas of the house.

We use the Port for patio speakers. We can now easily sync with our standalone Sonos speakers inside, but we also like being able to control the volume from the Sonos app.

Does everything my Connect used to do

Does everything my Connect used to do before Sonos neutered it, forcing me to buy something else, of which this was the best option. What the "everything" is for me is to play my large library of Apple Lossless music from my iPhone into my home stereo system external DAC and control my song choices from my phone. I still need a separate remote to control the volume on my preamp, but I can live with that.

The home I bought has speakers in the walls of each room. I hooked this up to the home stereo and I can stream music everywhere. I have the Sonos for the back deck as well. They all work so well together. It is a joy to have.

Easy to integrate into my Sonos system. I need it for my home theatre setup to add to the rest of my whole-house system. Smaller than I expected. Just wish the sticker price wasn’t similar to the price of my receiver.

Albeit pricy, this device is an excellent way to connect an existing component hi-fi system to your Sonos system and smart home. It also brings streaming capabilities to the amplifier.
