Be advised that the input of the port will not work plugged into the output of a Denon receiver so the receiver is the main source of audio. The output of the port does work by plugging it into the input of the Denon receiver, but the port becomes the main audio source. Also, be aware that there is a 4-second lag when plugging a karaoke or DJ controller into the port input.

Got talked into this by a dopey consultant and it was not at all what I want. If you want to listen to your vinyl transformed to digital - fine. For me is sucked. Sonos is not anything i'd recommend beyond their Move Speakers, which are nice for playing from phones etc. But you don't need this stupid thing for that.

Love our home so is system. Still have a traditional stereo with turntable, CD player and great speakers. The port allows us to work through the CD player but not the entire stereo system.

Although very solid and reliable i would rather spend the extra money and buy the amp instead. gives you great flexibility and versatility for configuration in your environment

I think the product is "probably" good but the Geek Squad rep was not sure how to set it up and it's not working. This is the SECOND time out to my house and I'm not satisfied with the service. They were supposed to set up for another rep, who has more knowledgable with the Port to come out...crickets, not word so I need to AGAIN initiate the service. You guys need to get your stuff together on this. This very poor Customer Service :(

Rarely works to connect to anything. I got this unit at a discount as a refurbished unit and it was still not worth it. The Sonos software is so horrible it is unusable. Avoid all Sonos products if you value quality.

I had it connected correctly to my turntable, but I couldn't get it to connect in the Sonos app. I had to return it for the Sonos 5 which worked for what I needed, connecting my record player to my Sonos system.

Not great, delay issues with an AVR make it unusable as a part of a broader sonos ecosystem in the same room. Otherwise it does what it says (and would be good if the AVR is the only thing in the same room - i.e. there are no sonos speakers in the same space)

We have a pair of old school floor speakers that we wanted to use with the existing Sonos system. We got the Port and connected it to an amp. We plugged the speakers into the amp. No sound. Plugged speakers directly into the Port-no sound. Followed all instructions. It is just a $400 box sitting in our tv stand not doing anything.

      Hi there,

I completely understand your frustration with the Sonos Port not producing any sound. Let's work through this together to get your existing speakers connected and playing music!

      Troubleshooting Checklist:

      AMP Power and Connections:

Double-check that your amp is powered on and set to the correct input (the one where the Port is connected).
Verify that your speakers are securely wired to the amp's speaker outputs.
      Port Connections and Settings:

If you tried connecting the speakers directly to the Port, ensure you plugged them into the "Line Out" ports.
Within the Sonos app, go to Settings -> System -> [Room Name] -> Line-Out, and make sure it isn't set to "Fixed" volume. Try "Variable" instead.
      Source Material:

Start a track within the Sonos app and ensure the volume is raised on both your phone/device and within the app itself.
Try a different audio source within the Sonos app to rule out the initial music choice.
      Additional Questions:

Amp Brand/Model: Knowing this helps determine if there any specific settings on the amp we need to adjust.
Speaker Brand/Model: This helps in case there's a common compatibility issue to be aware of.
Important Note: The Sonos Port is designed to connect to a powered amplifier. Connecting the speakers directly to the Port without an amp won't work as expected. john.milton

    Poor Quality Sound

Poor audio sound quality. Having This device be a signal delivery to a high end AV system was horrible and not in the standard chariot or of Sonos.

Thank you for your review Steve. The Port has two ways of connecting to a AV system, either RCA analog or digital coax. If you digital coax it will output digital direct to your AV system and then will rely on the Digital to analog converter in your AV system. This would allow the sound quality to be dictated by the quality of the AV system. Another variable is the quality of streaming service or file you are streaming, as different content will provide different qualities. john.milton

I paid for a new item, there's a lower cost for an opened item. It arrived opened, the tape was not only cut, but the slip on cover was slid on opposite, where the top part of the tape was on the left side of the box but the other half was on the right side. The sticker on tu he favric was wrinkled and fingerprints were on the item itself. No clue if it works or not. I'm just very angry that I paid for new, and got a returned item.
