Purchased Sonos port was told it would be easy to hook up and if not the geek squad would come out and install. Took over one month to get geek squad out. The geek squad person had no knowledge of how to install so still does not work

Thank you for your review. The Sonos Port is intended as a streaming device to stream music and output it into a receiver. Sonos Port does have an analog audio in which allows for connection to an audio product, like a CD player. When this is connected and configured, one can send that CD player audio to a Sonos speaker. john.milton

East set up. Perfect for joining old style receiver and speakers to Sonos system. Only down fall is price. But cheaper than buying sonos speakers. Had some older really nice Bowers and Wilkins speakers so I’m glad it worked.

The port works perfectly to help play music from my set of speakers that had been sitting unused for years since the last one stopped working….easy to set up and install, like most Sonos products. If you need a port, there are cheaper (re: inferior) ones available, but you can’t go wrong with Sonos.

This device Accomplished exactly what I was looking for. I thought installing a Sonos system would cost a lot more money. I was able to accomplish it with this system device and my existing hardware.

    Higher price! Fewer features!

The Sonos Port finds itself in an awkward position of being more expensive ( $450 vs $400) than its predecessor (the Sonos Connect) and also missing a couple of convenient features (digital optical port, buttons to control volume and playback). These basic features being removed really hurts the value proposition that Sonos is offering with the Port. That being said, this unit does add AirPlay 2, which is a fantastic addition. You'll also find a 12V trigger to automatically power on your A/V receiver, which some will find useful. Overall performance of the Port is perfect. Also, the new form factor and design make a lot more sense for this type of product. I would recommend this product with the understanding that you're paying a premium to get your other receiver into your Sonos network.

Sonos has a great product. I love being able to control music etc. from my phone. Adding this piece enabled me to connect my photograph and play my vinyl as well.
