This is the second one I bought. I had no choice, the one I bought two years. The sound is good. It is not sturdy.

It seems either the value is too loud or too soft. It’s hard to use the volume buttons to get the sound level you want. Also the sound quality isn’t much better than Apple HomePod.

The speaker looks pretty and all that. However, the user interface on the app is horrible. And uh, the interface on the speaker itself was beyond frustrating. I could never get it to connect through the app and on top of that, the volume was disappointing. Gimmick. Next.

Sonos Roam 2 — A Portable Disaster in a Fancy Wrap

As a long-time Sonos fan with speakers in nearly every room of my house, I had high hopes for the Roam 2. Sadly, this product has proven to be the first time Sonos let me down—hard. Let’s start with the fact that my first Roam 2 flat-out didn’t work. Just dead on arrival. After the hassle of a return and replacement (not exactly the “portable convenience” they advertised), I was hoping round two would redeem itself. Spoiler: it didn’t. This speaker constantly disconnects from Bluetooth for no reason. It turns off randomly, even with a full battery—or at least what the battery says is full. That battery? It drains faster than my will to keep troubleshooting this overpriced paperweight. I'm talking about losing charge while it’s doing nothing. I’ve seen gas station Bluetooth speakers with more stamina. Sonos nailed the home audio experience, but with the Roam 2, they somehow managed to cram the soul of a temperamental toaster into a premium-priced speaker. It’s buggy, unreliable, and honestly just not worth the aggravation.

I would rate this as average compared to others in the market. The sound quality is subpar, not really all that loud. In the end this item was returned for a refund.

      Posted .

I’m sorry to hear about the trouble with your Roam 2. Here are some steps to troubleshoot the issue:

      **1. Power and Charging
Check Battery: Ensure the speaker is fully charged. Try charging it with a different USB-C cable and power source.
Reset the Speaker: Perform a factory reset. Instructions for this are usually available in the user manual or on Sonos’s support page.
      **2. Connection Issues
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth: Ensure your Wi-Fi is working properly and that Bluetooth is enabled on your device. Try reconnecting the speaker through the Sonos app.
Sonos App: Make sure the Sonos app is updated to the latest version. Reinstalling the app might also help.
      **3. Software Updates
Firmware: Check for any firmware updates in the Sonos app. Updates can sometimes fix connectivity issues.
      **4. Support
Contact Sonos Support: If these steps don’t resolve the issue, reach out to Sonos customer support at support.sonos.com for further assistance. Provide details about the problem and the steps you've already taken.
If the problem persists, you might need to explore warranty or replacement options through Sonos or the retailer where you purchased the speaker.

I hope this solves for your concern! john.milton

Ordered a Sonos Roam 2. However, a used Sonos Roam 1 was inside instead. Really difficult getting any support on this.
