Sub works fine but the arc soundbar is limited

Works fine but the arc and their app is horrible. Their customer service is useless. For the price of their products there should be nothing they shouldn't be able to do. Very disapointed

the sub hits hard and sounds great. once every few months i do need to reset it and add it again to my sonos system. but the sub is useless since the new app is defective and wont let you add any new devices to system. which is a shame since i never have issues with the sonos beam on the same network. both devices located next to router

It sounds frustrating to experience issues with adding new devices to your Sonos system, especially when the Sub Gen 3 itself delivers impressive sound quality. It's understandable that this situation can diminish the overall experience, particularly when other Sonos devices on the same network are working fine.

If you haven't already, I recommend reaching out to Sonos support for assistance. They may have specific troubleshooting steps or updates that can help resolve the issue with adding new devices through the app. Additionally, ensuring that all firmware and app updates are current could potentially alleviate some of these connectivity issues. I hope this helps! john.milton

Not for long term. Horrible customer service!!

I was quite excited when I bought SONOS home theater system couple of years back (Subwoofer+Soundbar+Pair of rear speakers). I was satisfied with the sound quality(not exceptional though). After couple of years, the subwoofer makes rattling/cracking sound now. Please note I have had normal bass/woofer setting. This happened exactly when I upgraded SONOS S2 system. Had a long back-and-forth email chain with the customer service for a month with no resolution. The only thing they kept asking me to replace with new one paying ~$500 more since warranty is only for a year!! I wanted to love this system. But experience had other thoughts. Wouldn’t recommend for long term!!

Worst Sub I have ever owned! Beware!!!

Worst device I have ever had!! I have had for less than a month and every time I turn the tv on, it looses connection. Trying to get my money back and Sonos has connected me with 3 technicians that i have personally spent over 4 hrs troubleshooting the same steps over and over and still they are not offering a replacement. Still after 4 hours over 2 days on back n forth trying every possible configuration they can come up with just to not give me a replacement. Starting to think thats the point of this company. Never been so disgusted and disappointed with a company in my life. I have 3 other sonos devices that work fine but they are connected via ethernet. the sub is not but i would assume for an 800 sub that the bluetooth and/or wifi connection is at least halfway decent. Buyer Beware! this will be my last Sonos, not because of the device i understand some are faulty but the gross disrespect for my time that after 4 hrs of continuous failed troubleshooting they still cant even offer a replacement. Despicable and yet sadly not surprised, companies like Sonos could care less about customer help or customer experience.

    Very frustrated

We loved our system, while it worked. Unfortunately lately the subwoofer started going in and out. I contacted Sonos and they had me do a factory reset. Now it won't even connect, it just flashes red. They claim it is "old" and needs to be replaced. This product is far too expensive to only last 6 years. Calling a 6 year old speaker old is ridiculous. Not worth the money if the product won't last.

Sonos only offers a one year warranty! Mine totally bricked out the blue after two years of light use.. now i havw an 800 dollar paperweight. After a google search it seems this is a common issue.. cant recommend you pay this much for such poor quality and crap warranty

Terrible software: reboots and resets on its own.

Do not buy ANY Sonos products: I can't tell you how many times my Sonos 1, 3 and Playbar/Ones have decided to reset themselves and disappear off my sytem. I've spend countless hours trying to get them back on: They appear for a while then decide to disappear again. I'm reasonably facile with computer setup so I know it's not me. Complete crap software: don't buy unless you want to have a completely frustrating experience. Avoid like the plague.

    Sonos doesn't maintaine their products

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Sonos updates their software with the idea to make Thier older products no longer work so the made a S1 app that doesn't work and tells you to get the main app, so no point to the S1 app and now you can't use your older products that still work. They just want you to spend more money instead of having a quality product, glad I know now I'm never gonna buy a Sonos product again.

Hi, and thank you for taking the time to review Sub. We're very sorry you feel this way, is that seems to be the trend with many companies these days. The reason for our S1 app, is not to make you buy more Sonos. Think of you 15 year old cell phone running the software that's made for you new phone, or even the new phones that are coming out next year, or the year after. Eventually hardware can't handle the software needed to innovate. If we never launched our S2 platform, we would be stuck with the same features, and software forever, incapable of innovating.

Here's a list of all the products that work on S2 or S1. As you'll see, many products (including all Subs) work with S2.

If you need any help getting your products the appropriate software, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at sonos.com/support whichever way you prefer. john.milton

I fell for the hype to the tune of $3000+, now having to spend $799+ more for an additional sub just get DECENT bass because I can’t return it. For those out there expecting something powerful, great bang for the buck, this aint it.

Thank you for your review. Please update your Sonos system to the latest software which was released on October 18th, 2022. This update is 14.18. This update addresses bug fixes and performance enhancements, including a fix for an audio quality issue that reduced Sub output for Arc, Beam, or Ray when paired with a Sub or Sub Mini while Trueplay was enabled. john.milton
