What is the ideal position of the sub in the system with arc and pair of SLs? at front or back? Also, what's the ideal orientation of the sub, the hole facing the listener or away?
Answered by Sonos Customer CareHi, and thank you for your question! The great thing about Sonos is that you can place the Sub where you want to. Ideally in a place where the bass response is equally distributed throughout the space. You can Trueplay Tune your Sonos products with an IOS device which means in the matter of a minute or two the sound will be adjusted custom to your room. As far as placement Sub is designed to stand upright or lay flat. Not kidding, try it out if you don't believe us! :)
Can the Sonos subwoofer be paired with my Sonos Playbase? Also, can it be paired with a Sonos 5?

What is the difference between the Generation 1 and Generation 3 subwoofer?
Answered by JRATL01Basically updated internals. They updated the memory, processor, and wireless. It is supposed to have less vibration as well. I just got this along with the arc and it is amazing. I love playing things and turning off and on the sub to hear and feel the difference it makes, I can't compare as I didn't have the Gen1. Also this link (https://thedigitaltheater.com/dolby-trailers/) has demos you can use to test out audio systems with the different dolby technologies. Not a detailed answer, but I hope that helps. If anything you can search the webs on your question and probably get more detailed analysis of the two.
