Ah, the Sonos Sub Mini, or as I like to call it, “The Little Subwoofer That Could”. Picture this: a tiny, unassuming cylinder that could easily be mistaken for a fancy, modern vase. Except, instead of holding flowers, it holds the power to rock your world, quite literally. Unboxing the Sub Mini is an experience akin to finding out your quiet neighbor is actually a secret DJ. It’s small, but boy, does it pack a punch. It’s like Sonos crammed a musical Hulk into a cocktail dress — deceivingly compact but ready to smash through your expectations of what bass can do in your living room. Pair it with your existing setup and watch as your music collection gets a bass-fueled makeover. The Sub Mini takes every track and injects a shot of adrenaline straight into its heart. Bass drops are so deep, you’ll half expect to find your furniture rearranging itself in an attempt to find the source of the earthquake. And let’s not forget the design. It’s so sleek and unobtrusive, you might lose it if it weren’t for the seismic waves emanating from its core. It’s like Sonos asked a minimalist monk and a nightclub owner to design a subwoofer, and thus, the Sub Mini was born. Now, for the elephant in the room — or should I say, the elephant not in the room? Because you’ll be looking around, wondering how such a small device is producing sounds typically reserved for its larger, more cumbersome cousins. It’s like bringing a water pistol to a gunfight and finding out it shoots laser beams. In the end, the Sonos Sub Mini isn’t just a subwoofer. It’s a statement. A statement that says, “Yes, I like my bass deep and my furniture not vibrating off the floor.” It’s perfect for anyone who wants to feel their music in their bones without turning their living room into a nightclub (unless that’s your vibe, no judgment here). So, to wrap up, the Sonos Sub Mini: small stature, big personality, and an even bigger sound.

Amazing what this little sub does to a Sonos system. Takes all the low frequency off of the surrounds and soundbar and makes the sound so much more accurate and full.

I have an Arc, and two Era 100 as surrounds along with my LG 55 in my home office. Although the arc is impressive, I felt the lack of bass below 100hz. So, I read up on whether to pair the Arc with the Gen 3 sub or the sub mini. Online audiophiles recommended that you answer two questions: 1) Size of room and 2) do you want to rattle your neighbors and feel it in your chest. Since my room wasnt large (eg <300’ sq) and i didnt want to disturb my neghbors (or wife) i chose the sub mini. I’m very happy with my choice. After running Truplay set up, the sub adds in the bottom end nicely, filling in the whole in the Arc, to a well balanced signal down to 25hz for movie soundtracks as well as classical symphony. Nice flatline from 25hz on up. Now, that said, i did experiment further and found the sub mini to also be very impressive when i wanted to watch an action film like “Extraction” with cinema quality, heart throbbing bass (& my wife’s out of the house and my neighbors are gone)… I simply go into the Sonos settings and turn up the sub volume +5 to + 7 (out of +15) and you get all the oomph of chest pounding bass you’d expect from a sub. Im thrilled - particularly for not shelling out the extra $400 for the gen3 full sub. Clearly not needed in my scenario. YMMV.

After much research reading reviews on what others thought I purchased the beam and mini sub for my living room. My living room has vaulted ceilings and is semi open. There is a wall between kitchen and living room but it stops where the dining room starts. Set up was easy but I had to turn the mini sub up to 10 before I realized it was working. I now have it set on 6. I’m not a big time bass person but at the same time hearing base on a tv show or movie just makes it better. I have an Arc on order for my family room in the basement. I was going to order a mini sub because of the reviews I read but now I will be ordering the sub 4 for the family room. Family room is the main place I watch tv. The mini sub will work for the living room as a casual place but I don’t think it would work for my family room where the majority of movies and sports is watched. I will likely get the era 300 for the family room too. Will not get surround sound for the living room. The beam works great in that space.

From fine-tuning the bass to syncing with my other Sonos speakers, the entire experience is smooth and user-friendly. It blends seamlessly into any room and adds rich, deep sound without taking up much space. Highly recommended!

We have the full sized sub in our media room (paired with the arc sound bar. This setup sounds wonderful! I decided to try the mini in our garage and see how it compared. It is substantially cheaper but figured it was worth a try. Our garage is actually larger than our media room, so I had low expectations. I was blown away and how well the mini did! It’s paired to a set on One SL’s. For the money, it is very comparable to our other setup. I also prefer the black matte finish over the full size sub. Works wonderfully well with the app also. Adding to our system was a breeze, as with all Sonos products. You can’t go wrong with the mini, don’t underestimate the mini! The bass is strong and right, we absolutely love it! If you don’t like it, you can always return it! A++++++

The Sonos Sub Mini Dual 6" WiFi Subwoofer is a true marvel in compact audio engineering. Despite its small size, it delivers an absolutely astonishing bass performance that will leave you in awe. The depth and power of the bass that emanate from this unassuming box are nothing short of incredible. It takes your music, movies, and games to a whole new dimension, adding a level of richness and immersion that you'd expect from much larger subwoofers. What's truly remarkable is how well-balanced and distortion-free the bass remains, even at high volumes. It seamlessly integrates with your existing Sonos speakers, creating a harmonious and symphonic audio experience. Whether you're listening to a thunderous explosion in an action movie or feeling the thump of your favorite music, the Sub Mini does it all with finesse. The setup is a breeze, and the WiFi connectivity ensures a seamless and stable connection. It effortlessly adapts to your room's acoustics, thanks to its Trueplay tuning, guaranteeing optimal performance in any space. In terms of design, the Sub Mini is both elegant and compact, making it a stylish addition to any room without dominating your decor. It's a testament to Sonos' commitment to both aesthetics and audio excellence. In summary, the Sonos Sub Mini Dual 6" WiFi Subwoofer is a powerhouse of bass in a small and elegant package. If you're passionate about sound quality and want to experience deep, resonant bass without compromising on space, this subwoofer is an absolute must-have. It's a game-changer in the world of compact audio, and I can't recommend it enough for transforming your audio setup into something truly extraordinary.

Paired with my Sonos Beam Gen 2 this little subwoofer makes a BIG difference. Giving the majority of the lower frequencies to the sub allows the beam to provide a better listening experience for both music and movies. I watched Mad Max Furiosa last night and it completely chnaged the watching experience. In the sonos app you can disable the sub on demand, in certain scenes of the movie I turned the sub off to hear what it would sound like without it and man, without the sub its like all the depth of the sound disappears. Definitely a must have upgrade if you own a beam. If you’re on the fence like I was, just bite the bullet and get it! If you end up changing your mind you can always return it!
