I live in a townhome where my living room is about 11’ x 11’ with 14’ ceilings. My set up is the Arc, 2 One SL’s and now the Sub Mini. Out of the box eas suoer easy to set up and get it connected to my system. I read reviews where they said the sub mini isnt the best with the arc, I beg to differ. Immediately after placing it in my living room I trueplay tuned it and i can already feel and hear a bug difference. Playing some music at 50% the sub bass is more powerful than the arc creating a beautiful sound. I think it will always depend on your room and size. But this thing packs a punch for its size

Good sound. Setup is a bit annoying. It lost connection when I connected the Amp to Ethernet. I had to unplug the Ethernet and use Wifi again.

The Sonos Sub 4 brings deep, powerful bass that completely transforms my home theater and music experience — movies feel cinematic and music hits with punch and clarity you can feel, not just hear. Its force-canceling woofers deliver distortion-free low end that fills the room beautifully and integrates seamlessly with the rest of my Sonos system. Setup was incredibly easy: just plug it in, open the Sonos app, and it paired instantly with my Beam 2 — adding rich, room-shaking bass that the Beam alone simply can’t achieve. Even at moderate volumes, the difference is huge: bass is tight and controlled, dialogue and highs stay clear, and the overall soundstage feels more immersive and balanced. I also appreciate the sleek matte design that matches other Sonos gear, and the flexibility to place it vertically or horizontally under furniture. This is a premium upgrade worth every penny — highly recommended for anyone pairing it with a Beam 2 soundbar!

not amazing for the price, but easy to install and to integrate, I had a previous Bose and I love it more, but I like the integration and easy to use and configure in multi room the wifi no cable option is great, im worried the day the wifi doesn't work haha, but well the wifi provider is the best friend of this brand

Best addition to the sonos ultra arc soundbar

Adding the Sonos Sub 4 to my already excellent Sonos Arc Ultra has completely elevated my listening experience. The Arc Ultra provides the incredible 9.1.4 Dolby Atmos immersion and crystal-clear dialogue, while the Sub 4 handles the bass with spectacular, distortion-free depth. The Sub 4 doesn't just add bass; it frees the Arc to focus on mids and highs, resulting in a richer, fuller, and more detailed soundstage that truly shakes the room during action scenes. Setup was instant through the Sonos app, and the sleek design of both units looks fantastic under the TV. This combination is a premium audio investment that delivers professional-grade, cinematic sound right into your living room.

Decent base with some movies. Not needed for sports watchers. But mixes nicely with the Sonos sound bar.

The Sonos Sub Gen 4 is an absolute masterpiece of engineering and design. From the moment you unbox it, you can tell this subwoofer means business. The build quality feels solid and refined, with a sleek, minimalist look that fits effortlessly into any modern living room or home theater setup. Pairing it with my existing Sonos system took just a few minutes through the app, and the wireless connection has been rock-solid—no dropouts or sync issues whatsoever. Once connected, the difference in sound is immediate and dramatic. The Sub Gen 4 delivers impossibly deep, clean bass that you feel as much as you hear, yet it never overwhelms or muddies the mid and high frequencies. Whether I’m watching a blockbuster movie, playing music, or streaming TV, the Sub adds a level of richness and depth that’s hard to describe until you experience it firsthand. It takes the already impressive clarity of Sonos speakers like the Arc or Era 300 and elevates them to a truly cinematic level. The dual force-canceling drivers eliminate vibration and rattling, even at high volumes, and the system’s adaptive tuning perfectly balances bass levels with the rest of your setup. It’s powerful, precise, and beautifully controlled. Yes, it’s a premium-priced subwoofer—but you’re paying for premium performance. For anyone serious about their sound, the Sonos Sub Gen 4 is a game-changing upgrade that’s worth every penny.

If you already have a pre-existing Sonos sound bar, adding the sub 4 will elevate your movie watching experience with refined bass. And if you wanna crank up the bass you can do that through the Sonos app and create a room shaking experience. If one sub four is not enough, you can have the flexibility to have two in that experience alone is worth paying for it. In my opinion if you’re really into watching big Blockbuster movies at home.

I upgraded to this Sub 4 from a Mini and it has been super interesting comparing the two. Before I dive into that here’s the pros and cons for the Sub 4, generally: Pros: >Incredible room-filling cinematic bass >Relatively compact size, easy to stash behind a couch or next to a media stand >Effective laid flat or standing up >App works well and offers EQ settings Cons: >The price Who is this for? Anyone with an existing Sonos system that wants the best possible cinematic sound. Mine is paired with an Arc Ultra and two Era 100s for surround. I think that’s ideal for a medium-sized room. What’s the difference between this and the mini? The bass from the mini you hear. The bass from the Sub 4 you feel. It doesn’t sound “bass-y” at all. It feels the closest to being in a movie theatre. The bass, even turned up to the max, is just “there.” It surrounds you and adds impact all sorts of media. The mini you heard the bass. It’s still good, but it won’t make your chest vibrate. It sounded like a subwoofer. The Sub 4 is a different experience. Is it worth the money? Look, if you already ponied up for the other Sonos stuff, why not go all the way? It’s a premium, top-of-the-line sub and it’s priced accordingly. I would say yes, it’s worth the money especially if you get it on sale. That said, it depends what your goal is - if you’re just looking for a little extra punch, the Mini might be the way to go.

Picked it up launch week (Nov 2025) for $799 in black. Setup & pairing
Added it to my existing Arc + two Era 300 surrounds in under 2 minutes. Trueplay re-ran automatically; the difference was night-and-day. The bass
Deep, tight, and actually musical. Hans Zimmer scores in Dune and Interstellar hit chest-slam levels without ever getting boomy. Hip-hop and EDM (Travis Scott, Fred again..) finally feel complete; the Arc alone always felt a little polite down low. With the Sub 4, you feel 20-30 Hz in your couch on loud scenes, yet dialogue stays perfectly clear. Big upgrades over Sub Gen 3 • Faster processor → zero lag even with heavy Atmos tracks • Deeper extension (advertised 20 Hz vs 25 Hz); I can actually measure and feel it • Dual force-canceling woofers are even better at killing vibration; placed it 18” from the wall and zero rattle • Matte finish looks way classier and hides fingerprints/dog nose prints better Only nitpick
Still $799. Worth it if you’re already invested in Sonos, but that’s real money. Verdict
If you have an Arc (or plan to) and you watch movies or spin Atmos music regularly, the Sub 4 is no longer “nice to have” — it’s basically mandatory for the full experience. My Mini Schnauzer still barks at explosions, but now the floor shakes when he does. 10/10 upgrade, zero regrets.

It's a premium wireless sub that integrates flawlessly into a Sonos ecosystem—setup takes literally 2 minutes in the app, Trueplay tunes it to your room automatically, and it never vibrates the floor thanks to those opposing drivers. The bass is clean, tight, and surprisingly deep for the size; movies get real rumble on explosions, bass-heavy music feels weighty and controlled without turning muddy, and it scales volume well without distortion even when cranked.

When I saw that I could not only add a second sub to my Sonos Arc Soundbar, but also have a Gen 4 SUB, AND get it for the same price as a Gen 3, I jumped at the chance! It evened out the bass response of my room, and made the bass even more effortless than it was to begin with. It was easy to add it to my Sonos Home Theater setup. Just like with the Gen 3 SUB, the Gen 4 is very solidly built, and I have never heard it struggle or bottom-out trying to reproduce the lowest bass notes, much less any port noise. Both the Gen 3 and 4 punch WAY above their weight class. And that is saying something coming from someone that has owned Miller & Kreisel and Klipsch subs!
