This sub pairs well with my five and roam SL. The bass is very strong and sounds phenomenal. The audio quality is up there with the likes of Bowers and Wilkins

I use it in a12x20 foot space to add some thump to a pair os Eros 300’s. Adds needed low end for rock and big classical overtures.

You won’t hear the bass consistently throughout the whole song, since it has a very short phase signal. So, if certain parts of the song don’t “qualify” to be played through the sub, you simply won’t hear them — which is really annoying. I already spoke with one of the Sonos chat representatives, and their solution was to connect the system to the extender router. The main purpose of having a $2,000 modern wireless sound system is to minimize the number of cables needed. By the way, when the bass does play, it doesn’t sound any richer than Bose. Will turn it back.

Ok, here's the deal. I had very similar, troublesome issues many of you have desribed. After TWO weeks trying to fix connection issues, and purchasing another sub mini thinking mine was toast, I got to the bottom of the issue. During all this time, i tried to get in touch with Sonos support many times, which was awful, I bit the bullet and stayed on hold for 75 minutes to talk to someone. Dante was awesome! He explained that this sub has inherent issues with newer routers. I had indeed switched out for a newer router with Spectrum a couple of weeks ago. Apparently, the sub uses different frequencies than my Sonos Fives, so the problem was hard to discover. I found out that i would need to PURCHASE a different router that can be tweaked. The Spectrum router, even though new and super fast and reliable otherwise, can NOT be altered in any way. So, this sub would NEVER connect to my wifi. What!!?? Anyway, here are the settings that Dante gave me if i had a router that could be modified. I really hope this helps someone. I will be returning the sub and try to find out if the larger subs have this problem. Anyone know this answer??? Settings required: A- auto channel must be set to off on 2.4 Ghz B- choose the best non overlapping channel (1,6,11 ) on 2.4 Ghz C- both 2.4Ghz and 5 Ghz should be enabled D- 802.11 bands should be set to b/g/n on 2.4 Ghz Restart routers after making changes. This hopefully will work for you. I DON'T want to have to buy a new expensive router. And, then pay extra each month for using my own unit. What pains me, is the sub was AWESOME on my old router. Never had significant issues, and it was unreal to listen to and enjoy. I love bass to be full and powerful, with low distortion. The sub gave me joy. Now, it is not,....joy. I can't believe Sonos would still sell this product knowing it will be unusable over time. Why design it to use different frequencies? Why do you not LET THE PUBLIC KNOW ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND MAKE IT EASY TO FIGURE OUT???? So, one star. I just hope the other sub does NOT have these issues, or I have to wait for an updated sub mini....?? Can anyone shed light on this? Sonos, if you're listening to your loyal fans and users, please fix this, or at least broadcast this issue out to the public. We are spending time, money, and much effort on a problem that can't be fixed otherwise. I should stop here, before I get into the new Sonos app bugs and mishaps. Those are whole disasters by themselves. C'mon Sonos, you're better than this!! Sincerely, a sort-of-still-fan of all things Sonos. K Pearson (KP from NC)

Amazing for the size. Im comparing this to my B@W 600 8", A Rel TX 5, 8" for my dedicated stereo setup. And an Outlaw Audio 10" and Kef 10" disc sub for home theater. I'm currently using a Sonos Arc with the sub mini. Two music discs that I use to test any sub is the Eagles DVD "Hell Freezes Over", song Help me through the Night and Bella Fleck's CD, Flight of the Cosmic Hippo. For Help me through the night, I listen for the definition, and sustain or release of the bass notes and it was excellent. Flight of the Cosmic Hippo, just listening to how it handles the bass and it was also excellent. For surround, I used Top Gun "Maverick". Again, excellent. My listening space is 19'x11" leading to an open kitchen. The Sonos is placed at the front right corner. Another thing that I like about the Sonos is that I don't have to turn up the volume for the sub to acquire a signal to turn on. It seems to always be ready. For me, this provides all the bass that I need. I've heard the SVS powered larger sub, but that's in a different class and for a larger space and needs and priorities. The Sub mini also does not buzz or vibrate on the hardwood floor like the Rel. I had to use vibrapod feet for that. This Sonos sub mini gives me everything that I need. If you like more boom, then the larger Sonos sub might be better, and would probably have more sustain and hit harder and lower, but maybe with more overhang. I've only heard the store demo. Anyway, it's a keeper. Just ordered a pair of Sonos ERA 300 for surrounds.

As someone who appreciates both aesthetics and performance in home audio equipment, I recently invested in the Sonos Sub Mini. I am delighted to share my experience with this compact subwoofer that has not only met but exceeded my expectations. Design & Build Quality The first thing that caught my eye was the Sub Mini’s design. Its dimensions are just perfect for a living room setup, boasting what I’d call a ‘spouse-friendly design’. It blends seamlessly into our living space without being obtrusive. The build quality is impressive – it has a noticeable heft to it, indicating a well-constructed and durable unit. Sound Performance The sound quality of the Sub Mini is where it truly shines. The bass is tight and potent enough to shake walls, adding a new dimension to our movie nights. Watching films like “Top Gun: Maverick”, “Jurassic Park”, and “The Matrix” was a thrilling experience, with every explosion and soundtrack feeling more immersive. Even in family movies like “The Polar Express”, the Sub Mini brought out deep notes in the locomotive scene that we had never noticed before. Despite its powerful output, the unit has no noticeable vibrations – a testament to its solid build. User Experience Setting up the Sub Mini initially presented some challenges. However, the issue was promptly resolved with a quick call to Sonos support, who were incredibly helpful and efficient. Room Compatibility I use the Sub Mini in my living room, which is approximately 18x14 feet with an opening to the dining area. The Sub Mini fills this space effortlessly with rich, detailed bass. I highly recommend utilizing Trueplay tuning to optimize the sound for your specific room layout. Final Thoughts The Sonos Sub Mini is an excellent addition to most living room setups. Its combination of compact design, robust build quality, and exceptional sound performance makes it a standout product. For anyone looking to enhance their home audio experience without compromising on space or aesthetics, the Sonos Sub Mini comes highly recommended.

This sub is a great addition to your home theater setup if you have a Beam, I tried it with mine and the improvement in audio was awesome. The size is great, and the design pretty much allows it to fit anywhere. It honestly felt like a new system. The audio with the sub mini just envelops you and adds a lot of warmth to your content. I did try it out with my era 300 stereo pair and it was ok, but not nearly as big of a difference as I experienced with adding it to the Beam. I would definitely recommend this to any Beam owner.

We bought the Beam over the Arc due to price and knew that it was not going to have the bass response we were looking for. Got the Sub Mini and it does not disappoint. Compact size, easy setup and fantastic sound. I am still trying different settings to get more mods out of the beam, but so far happy.
