The kit lense does the same thing. Wanted the fisheye attachment so has to get this lense. I will probably never use just this lense alone.

This lens did not work any better than the lens that came with my camera as far as shooting in wide-angle I ended up taking it back and buying a much more expensive wide angle lens.

I was excited to try the mirrorless camera and the price was fair... but feel now they they have moved on to A7rii they do not for 6000 series basically 2 lenses with no extreme telephoto options

It barely adds a couple of inches to the room...no wide angle feature as advertised I am debating on whether to take it back. Really disappointed.

The lens sucks don’t buy this invest a little more and buy yourself a lens that’s a little more expensive

I always buy from Best Buy, but had to buy this one elsewhere since Best Buy hadn’t started carrying it yet. I have had it for about a 1½ months now and am very happy with the performance. This is the perfect lens if you buy the Sony NEX for its size. The lens is less than an inch thin so makes the camera seem a lot more stream lined than it does on with the 18-55mm kit lens. Sony also makes a fisheye adapter for this lens so to add a fresh perspective to video or photos. Photos: Also it is quite a bit faster than the kit lens at f/2.8 so low lit shots are no problem. Very sharp even around the edges. Makes the panorama mode look even better. Produces no noticable noise in the photo. Video: The fixed lens is great for video, and the auto focus works during video. Best of the 3 lenses Sony makes for the NEX when it comes to video Downfalls: Hard to find filters for it, but same size as all other e-mount lens (49mm)… and that’s about it. Overall great lens that isn’t expensive Dear Best Buy, Please start carrying the 18-200mm lens for the NEX!

Bought this lens for mostly night shots and I also use it for general uses. I am shooting with the A6000 and it works very well. Night shots are crisp and clear. No distortion near edge of photos that I can see. (Note: no clear nights since I bought this, go figure. However the lens picked up stars between the cloud breaks and it was very clear, clouds, star, trees) For the money this is an excellent lens. Hope Sony can start making f/1,2 lenses.

This lightweight lens has a sturdy construction and works great for Landscapes or for shooting in low light conditions. The image quality is clear and bright but softness and fringing occurs when shooting at f/2.8. Also it's so thin that I find it difficult to get a good grip while detaching it from the camera but once it detaches it can easily fit in a pocket.

I got this as a birthday present to go with my NEX 5.... I recently got some great use out of it! While I do mostly use my standard zoom lens, when you are trying to photography a big group in a small space this comes in handy! Not having a lot of room to work but wanting to get the entire shot this is the lens to do it. This gives you at least an extra 3 feet of space without even moving! Also is very useful if you have the fisheye lens which you almost have to have this if you have that. I love this lens and the camera!

I bought this lens when I got my camera and this lens has come in handy. It takes nice pictures and,is useful in close quarters

I bought this lens for Sony Nex 5RK. It's a great lens if your trying to take photos of scenery. It's small and durable quality. It's a must if you want great photos.

This is a great 2nd option lens and makes it compact when needed. But the lens does not zoom.

It's a good lens, incredible depth of field, but the focus is somewhat slow at times.

I picked up this lens as an open box deal and so glad I did! Great lens and fast delivery.

Its a good lens but i would save the money because you will primarily use the 18-55 mm lens
