Like others I thought buying a Sony soundbar for a Sony TV would make life simple. Wrong! After a week the system would just not work. No explanation since it worked just the previous day with not changes to any settings on either the TV or soundbar. After troubleshooting for an hour (puling out the setup manual, disconnecting everything and reconnecting) then doing a factory reset I got it to work. It worked perfectly for another 3 days and then it stopped working again for no obvious reason. Why? It was working fine just the previous day and now nothing? I did the same troubleshooting steps, but this time nothing I tried worked. I didnt want to return it because when it was working it is a great sounding system plus who wants to pack everything up and drive an hour away to BB on a stormy night? Now I am shopping for a replacement. Bose?

Regarding the loss of audio from your TV, we are sorry for your difficulty.
May we offer a suggestion?
This loss of audio may be related to HDMI ARC.
Are you using HDMI ARC to receive audio signal from the TV?
If so, there may be a few things that you could do to remedy the situation.
1. If you are using external sources (Blu Ray player, cable provider, etc.) then you may want to plug these sources directly into the HTNT5 sound bar.
This sound bar has 3 HDMI inputs. Therefore, you should be able to plug all of your sources into the sound bar and simply run one HDMI cable from the sound bar (HDMI OUT) to the TV.
2. If you still desire to plug your sources into the TV, and then use HDMI ARC to send the audio back to the TV, then you can try the following solution.
a.While the HTNT5 and TV are powered on, unplug the HDMI cable from the sound bar, and then plug it back in.
This should cause the TV to resync with the sound bar.
