Sound in the store seemed to be more vibrant, louder and more impressive than at home. Somewhat disappointed given the cost but we got a good deal when compared to the list price.

We would like to recommend you update the HT-NT5 to the latest software. Also, as you may already know, often times different audio sources carry different sound levels and frequencies. In order to maximize your listening experience, please plug your devices directly into the HT-NT5, then run a HDMI cable directly to your HDMI (ARC) input of the Sony TV.

Posted .Hi Bryan, thank you for providing your feedback for the HT-NT5. We understand you prefer the bass of your sound system to be less boomy. In an effort to remedy this concern, there is a dedicated subwoofer volume control to help decrease bass volume and frequency. On the remote this is located directly left of the volume control for the sound system, labeled as SW. I'm an old fashion guy that like pure sounds. I ended up purchasing a Klipsch sub and Pioneer Elite speakers. I'm much happier now.
