    It took approx. 30 seconds for the sound to come on. When it did have sound, it was difficult for me to understand because of lack of clarity. I was not at all satisfied and returned it to the store for full refund.

    The sound bar goes out all the time. It was a complete waste of my money. I try to see what can be done and I get the run around. No help at all. My wife is extremely unhappy since the purchase was for her.

    I love Sony! I've always purchased their products so I though the soundbar would be a sound purchase. I've never been so wrong. This is quite possibly the worst sounding soundbar on the market. Bestbuy demonstrates it with Bluetooth Audio and it sounds great, but once you try to broadcast TV audio, it's anything but loud. I had to crank it to the max to even hear the TV, 80 out of 100. Unacceptable! Needless to say I took it back and was told by the BB Associate that all soundbars sounded the same. Absolute BS. Bought Bose and have enjoyed EVERYTHING ABOUT IT! Don't buy this system, you'll regret it!

    Really disappointed with this product. When we play movies or YouTube we can't hear the dialogue at all. The sound effects are so loud the wall vibrates, as does almost all the walls of my apartment!

    Normally Sony is our first choice when purchasing audio equipment for the home. However we did end up returning this product because it lacked crispness of voices and the overall sound had a hollow effect.

    Everything about this solution seemed great on paper. Once I hooked it up and ran it through several different movie scenes and some music, it was clear that this soundbar was coming up short, way short.

    Very dissatisfied in this purchase. It was less than half of the price of a Bose system but not worth one quarter. Guess it might be ok if you really aren't looking for a full surround feel.

    I had high hopes for this but it was a pain to set up and it kept turning on and off. It was supposed to set up seamlessly with our new sony tv but it did not. Took an hour to get working in the first place (and I work in computers I'm good at this stuff) and then it kept doing this thing where the tv sound would toggle on and off so sound was playing out of both but not in sync. It was so annoying. Also I thought it sounded thin. Was not impressed with the level of bass in the moments it worked. We returned it and are planning on getting a sonos.

      May we offer a few suggestions? If sound is playing out of both the TV and the HTNT5 sound bar, then you may need to go into the menu of the TV and change the speaker setting from “TV Speakers” to “Audio System”. Also, if you press the OPTIONS button on the HTNT5 remote, you will see an AV Sync setting. You can use this setting to adjust the sound to ensure that the sound is synced with the video. Lastly, you can use the dedicated subwoofer level buttons on the sound bar remote to adjust the amount of bass to your preference. Best regards, -Mark sony_US

    Purchased this thinking it would sound better then the five speakers that I had, but I was very sadden. The base was very low. Would not purchase it again

    The volume does not come on when I turn the TV on takes about 15 seconds, the base is not what I expected (Very little base and for $500.00 I should being getting better base

    Was debating between a few systems for surround sound to buy my husband for Christmas-Salesman at BB said THIS IS THE BEST-go with it-he has one and LOVES it. Turns out it's not at ALL what I was "sold" on. The biggest/most irritating issue is the sound conflict/timing. If you enjoy watching movies where the delay in sound/action is ok then this is for you! It's not easily hooked up as I was told-it took much more tech assistance than what I was told. Just all around not impressed. Would have rather went with a better system.

    We bought this sound bar system at the end of June, and loved it...after a month of use it quit working! We unplugged it,plugged it into a different tv and still nothing! It wouldn't read the remote so we couldn't reset it. Ended up calling Sony support and after an hour on the phone they couldn't fix it so we sent it in for repair. Got a phone from them about a week later, the sound bar is UNFIXABLE and the would issue a refund but it would take 4-6 weeks. I'll stick with Samsung from now on. Will never buy another Sony product.

    Not a good soundbar

    I purchased this soundbar in December when I purchased my TV. I thought it would sound better than what I had previously. The soundbar works but cannot get the base to my liking.

    worked for a solid 6 weeks.. then sound started to be out of sync, turning on/off the sound bar would take a minimum of 5 minutes, and that didn't fix the out of sync issue, menu was no longer displayed for the sound bar, it'd go to the menus background but for whatever reason just gets hung up and never does anything, none of the buttons work, factory reset doesn't work, switching hdmi cables doesn't work, leaving unplugged for hours didn't work... decent audio.. but the product failed too quickly
