"Just like being in a theater"

I am gald I got this when I bought my tv. The sound quality is so much better. I had trouble connecting to my tv at first and almost returned it. I finally switched the HDMI cable and got it to work. Now whenever we watch movies the sound quality is comparable to "in theater movie experience". My kids love it!

    Home Audio in a Bar!!!!

This Sound Bar is fantastic the Spec/Website Info Doesn't Do this home audio System justice. Notice that i say home audio system, this thing doesn't just sound amazing its a Receiver and More, For one it has 3 4K/HDR HDMI in ports and one out which is all you need to connect to your 4K TV. Which means you can plug everything to Bar it self Due to its GUI "Graphic User Interface" that operates like a Receiver. That's Not all it also supports every Audio Codex for Music lovers and Blu-ray and 4k Blu-ray audio Codex's (DTS-DH MA, Dolby TruHD, Hi-Res & More. That's just amazing,But it doesn't stop there, it also has Wifi/BT for wireless multi room set up like Sono's just better because its supports up to 50 Speakers and its Hi-Res. Also it can turn into a Wireless true surround Sound system with some speakers called the SRS-ZR5 & SRS-ZR7's. those can also be added throughout your home and grouped as zones!!!. Oh yeah i bought 2 of those little speakers because you can also use them for speakers on your other TVs because they support DTS and Dolby audio files with ARC HDMI. i have had this set up for about a week will update if anything changes. will recommend to all my friends ALL!!! OH YEAH they take $200 if you buy a Sony TV with it

Easy setup, beautiful design, immersive sound

I had considered buying one of the previous year's 7.1 models, but wanted inputs/outputs compatible with HDMI 2.0 & HDCP 2.2 for full 4K & HDR. Despite the description/specifications listed on Bestbuy's website, this system has 1 HDMI output w/ARC & 3 HDMI inputs, all of which are HDMI 2.0 & HDCP 2.2. Full specs can be found at http://www.sony.com/electronics/sound-bars/ht-nt5#product_details_default This HT-NT5 is an impressive sound bar system. SONY has outdone themselves with this one. The high-res audio is clear, crisp, & precise. I was initially hesitant to get 2.1 over 7.1 at this price point, but I am extremely happy I did. I am looking forward to the update next month that will allow SongPal Link to connect the soundbar system to other compatible SONY bluetooth/wifi speakers as wireless surround, or multi-room listening.

This was offered to us as part of a bundle with a 65" Sony XBR850 TV. The sound is good even in my large 20x28' room. Its not a super high end unit but a solid performer for the price paid

    One for All

Sony has a typical sound: (mid) bass heavy, sort of flat midrange, and high treble. Compared to others it has a “mass appeal” attitude that is predicted to generate maximum sales. Others tend to be more distinguished in their sound. That being said, it’s a well rounded system for a smaller room. This model is about to be replaced and there is a lot of inventory around so a good deal may be found. Do yourself a favor, pick 4-5, stop reading reviews, go to the store and LISTEN. Buy what you like for what you can afford.

    Amazing Soundbar

This is a KILLER soundbar right now for the price. Usually $800...$400 sale price but I bought mine Open Box because the person before me did not know how to pair the sub to the soundbar. I got this setup for $250. I was looking in the $200 range for a soundbar and this EASILY outperforms everything in the $200 range. It gets loud and has tons of clarity. Lots of EQ settings for different things (sport, gaming, speech etc). I also needed a soundbar because the speakers on my TV aren't the best. It has a lot of inputs (more than you'll ever need). I liked that it was 4k HDR compatible and that I thought it was really neat that it has it's own software where I can control everything from the soundbar. I mainly wanted a soundbar for Gaming when my friends aren't on so I don't have to use my headphones. I also use Netflix on my Xbox One X. Best money I have ever spent and a high-quality soundbar for sure. Get it while it's hot!

Bought this as a bundle with a Sony 930C TV. Functionally, everything works perfectly, Bravia link/sync button on the TV is a better remote than the one that came with it. Bass is loud when turned all the way up (don't know why people say it is not, maybe they don't know how to place it). It does emphasize high and low with little mid-range. Fine for movies but hard to hear announcers during football games. For what I paid ($400), I think it is a great deal. If I wanted concert quality sound, I would get a home audio system not a sound bar. This is great for movies, bluetooth, and syncs perfectly with my TV.

I had this for a few days(bought an open box deal, looked brand new upon opening it up- which has been my experience with every open box item I've ever purchased from BB) and fully expected it to blow the Yamaha YAS207 I recently purchased out of the water. In an unscientific test with my family, we felt that this soundbar offered more spatial separation than the Yamaha, and offered a louder overall output that the Yamaha by a noticeable margin, but it was not the game changing performance we had expected. The HTNT5 definitely had better highs, but felt that the midrange was severely lacking. We felt that the bass was not as crisp as we had expected based off professional and other online reviews, and not as good as the bass on the YAS207. I was able to notice the differences easily in my family room, but probably wouldn't have noticed them just from trying out both extensively in various retail stores. A big advantage of the HTNT5 is more HDMI inputs, and the ability to add rear speakers. But overall, I felt the YAS207 was a better overall sounding soundbar, and somewhat less expensive as well. I would still recommend this to someone else looking for a loud, good performing soundbar, but we decided the Yamaha was better and returned the HTNT5. Both of the above items were more than sufficient to fill my 24x24 family room with sound.

We bought this soundbar trying to eliminate all the extra speakers surround has and are very pleased. Good quality sound and it sits nicely below the tv. Good bye bulky boxes!!! There are definitely better sounding bars out there, but for the price, this one does the job nicely!!

Bought this soundbar with a bundle for my 70" Sony. We have had Samsung soundbars before and by far, this soundbar is the best I have seen! Easiest set up, User friendly, AMAZING sound, and Sleek look! The built in bluetooth has to be my most used option, connects to my iPhone quickly and plays music with great clear sound

    Not loud enough

I've read tons of reviews and people are just raving at the quality of the sound so I figured I'd go for it especially that I just got a new 75 inch XBR Ultra 4K system to go along with it, AND there was an open box special so I paid like $300 less than the full price. I would have never even looked at getting a Sony soundbar but figured I can't go wrong for it matches perfectly with my new TV, HOWEVER, I am very VERY disappointed with the bass and the max volume of the system, and had I paid the full price I'd be LIVID. I've followed all the steps to reset it, reconnect it, etc, etc, but it just doesn't seem loud enough. It basically is a minor improvement over the TV speakers but that's about it. I assumed that being an $800 system that I'd be very happy with the sound but very disappointed instead. You can hear the subwoofer "sometimes", but not all the time. And I have it on the max setting which is 12 like 99% of the time for it's just not loud enough. I don't understand all the positive reviews that people are blown away with the quality of sound and that it has more than enough power but I feel the opposite. Even when I've tirelessly played around with the different settings I feel it's just like the stock TV speakers but "maybe" a little louder, that's it! I was expecting to be blown away but I'm thinking of returning it and getting something different. Even if I spend a little less, say around $500, I would think it's possible to find a soundbar with subwoofer that's more than powerful enough where I don't have to have it on the max setting all the time just to hear a "little" bass. i really REALLY wanted to love this thing and tried to talk myself into it but it just doesn't cut it. Every person I know that has a soundbar says they have to lower the bass all the time because it's too much and can almost shake the room but definitely not this product. And while all this is happening I actually had to return the new TV for a replacement as well! At first the picture was AMAZING, but the very first night I had it I was playing around with all the different search features in the Android operating system and it CRASHED! Waited like 10 mins but nothing would work, not the remote, not the buttons on the back of the TV, nothing. So I had to unplug it and do a reset, and when it came back up something must have changed with the settings for the picture was just "OK", not spectacular like it was at first. So after having the TV for about a week, it has done the same thing and crashed like 7 or 8 times, and each time it happens when I mean it crashes, it crashes. Nothing responds and you have to do a full reset. The person at BB who talked me into getting this set was very helpful, and I'm now waiting for them to bring me a replacement. With all the issues I've had with the very underwhelming soundbar, I am praying and crossing my fingers that I at least have better luck with the TV they are bringing me as a replacement. If that is nothing short of excellent, I will never ever buy another Sony product again.

    Pretty Good, but Expected Better

I got this with the $200 off special when buying a Sony 55" or bigger TV. It does sound good when it works, but HDMI ARC to the TV has been inconsistent. This morning for example the soundbar automatically muted when turning the tv on and I could only get the TV volume to work. Had to restart to get it up and running again and this has happened several times. Another problem I've ran into is the wireless sub-woofer not outputting bass when I initially turn the tv/soundbar on. Even though it shows a green light, I have to unplug the sub-woofer and plug it in again and then I can start hearing bass. Also - for as loud as it should sound, it doesn't get as loud as I believe it should - for example watching Home Alone with my son I have it turned up and actually have reached 100-the max and my wife is even surprised it's not louder. The 4K movies Sony gives you for free (4X of them) in the promotion are loud, but everything else is hit or miss. We have a cheaper Vizio surround sound package that's also wireless and it definitely gets louder than this Sony soundbar. I'm looking forward to Sony making the wireless speakers smaller that can be used for surround sound. Right now, they are way too heavy and bulky and the cost is too much for what they are. Hoping Sony corrects that and I will probably add speakers to the back. Overall, it does sound good when it works, but I would probably look to what Bose is offering if I had to do it over again.

    HTNT5 sound bar

This sound bar is great, and the sub is just awesome. At night I have to lower the sound bar or hit the night button which reduces the sound and bass if you it's really loud. The built software is just sweet. Please you can add sony 'SRSZR' small speakers and make this 4.1. Look if you comparing a 5.1 audio to a soundbar your comparing apple and oranges. Don't ding the HTNT5 for a comparing to a 5.1. If you want true 5.1 go out and purchase a 5.1, and not a sound bar. over all this sound works amazing the sound is just clear, deep bass, and sony is the way to go... plus remember you can add speakers "room for growth" to 4.1 it's awesome

Bought this on a friends recommendation, 4 months into ownership I get the dreaded "PLEASE WAIT" message. Contact support and they repair it, logic board needed replaced. Get the unit back same issue is now happening, exact same symptoms 3.5 months after repair. Contact support and was told to try a different wall outlet!?!?!?! Cmon man! seriously, thats a fix!? Imagine my surprise when that didnt work :-). Send unit in again for repair per Sony, asked rep when Sony will replace this obvious defective unit and all he can do is authorize a repair. So I guess Sony will dance around this until my unit craps out again after my warranty is expired and then I will be out 900$ Rep said if that happens to contact customer relations to see what they will do, I have a feeling I will know that answer in a few short months. First experience with a Sony product and will not recommend to anyone.

I purchased the top of the line sony smart tv, 3d dvd player and the ht-nt5 speakers. It's great when I get it working properly. I have spent many HOURS on the phone with sony trying to get everything well integrated. Only one person has been able to do that for me at Sony. He got the TV and sound bar working properly and told me if I bought a Sony DVD player that would integrate on the same remote and work well. I went out and bought the blue ray 3D player and once again it was a mess. None of the Sony techs have been able to make it work, probably because the don't seem to know what they're doing. The response is always can I hold for a moment and then they come back to the phone and still don't have the answer-I'd like to get the one person there who seemed to know what he was doing and fixed it remotely. I think I, after much frustration, have finally got it operating okay. Otherwise the sound is very good- nice bass and highs and nicely in sync. I would highly recommend this if the service were better.

Go this because my TV just needed a little extra sound to it. Set it all up, put the soundbar into Movie Mode, Voice on type 2 sub on 9. IT SOUNDS SOOOOOOOO GOOD. I am currently watching Star Wars and I can hear the smallest of sounds. For people who want Loud just go somewhere else, but people who want clarity Pick this bar up and you wont regret it.
