PATHETIC!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.WOW, what a disappointment. I've had this system and the two rear Sony speakers FOR 6 MONTHS and after spending well over a thousand dollars, I'm trashing these. The sound bar and rear speakers CONSTANTLY disconnect and randomly work. I purchased a $3,000 Sony TV and mistakenly thought Sony sound was the way to go, BIG MISTAKE. I'm now out in excess of $1,000 and will be purchasing another brand, likely Bose. I strongly suggest, not buying these. The worse thing yet is the pathetic responses from Sony, in stead of standing behind this product and replacing these obviously defective systems, they simply apologize, wow.

Not sure if this is worth the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the money I expected a little more. It does better than the TV, but for this price I have to turn it pretty high for it to make a difference.

2nd Unit Defective in under 3 months
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Originally purchased this soundbar + 2 rear speakers on 12/12/16, the first sound bar went out 1/26/17, sound was completely out of sync, menu completely stopped working, tried multiple televisions, hdmi cords, optical cords, nothing worked to fix the solution, not even a factory reset. Took that bar back 1/27/17 it is now 3/1/17 and my 2nd HT-NT5 soundbar is starting to FREQUENTLY mess up, starting with out of sync audio, crackling in audio, audio cut outs for about 3 seconds, every day i have to re-connect the Rear speakers atleast twice now.. as of writing this review its 11:30 in the morning and already am having to reset the soundbar once today and redo the surround sound setup, after having to do this just last night before bed... i Can just feel it, this soundbar is dying.. I would never recommend a faulty product like this, while it does sound Good while it works, it seems to not work for long.. you may get a solid 6 weeks out of a single sound bar and heavy use, mine is in use for about 8 hours a day or better most days.. Will be returning this product for either Bose or Samsung set, haven't decided yet, all i have decided that the headache of having to return bar after bar is quite annoying.

Don't buy....look around
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this unit last week along with two Sony satellite speakers and had it installed by GeekSquad after reading review on CNET. I'm not sure what planet the CNET reviewer was on but I just returned the entire thing to Best Buy. I probably should have known when the Geek Squad tech told me the sub woofer was the weakest in the price range. He was wrong....it's worse than that. The sound bar is pretty good but the satellite speakers delivered no performance at all and the sub woofer is pathetic even when turned up to full volume. Props to Best Buy for having a no hassle no questions asked return policy as that was a breeze. If you're in the market for a sound bar and sub for under $750 I'd definitely look around and not buy this one. You will be disappointed.

Junk!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Should have believed some of the bad reviews I read about this soundbar! You would think Sony could come up with something better than this. No volume hardly, very weak bass, and overall bad sound! Returned the next day and bought the Bose Soundbass.

Not as advertised
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have returned 2 of these since Dec 2016 due to complete failure and now the subwoofer will not link up. I read the reviews on the Sony 65 inch TV which is awesome but not the sound bar which wasn't on my radar and only purchased it at the store as a set. Only after the second incident ( it's being repaired now) did I look at the reviews (my own fault) and other buyers has had the same problem. something is wrong either with this system or the TV as to why they will not link up. Best Buy Geek Squad installed the TV and sound bar so its not that I installed it incorrectly. It is of no use to me if its going to keep doing this every 3 to 5 months. Now I have to wait until Sept to get it back. I have not had this system a year yet and its useless. Sony can I return this for a refund

Not strong with tv
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When playing music through the Bluetooth the audio strength and base is amazing! However, as a tv and DVD speaker (ARC connection on Sony tv) its way too soft, I have to turn it up almost to full volume; it's almost as if it were two different systems. I will probably return it.

Sad
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this as an open box excellent to accompany my new Bravia 65900e TV figuring it would be a great upgrade unit from my old Samsung. WRONG. Home programing screen will not come up on the TV. The ARC input doesn't work. The only way I could get the audio to connect was via Bluetooth. I've since read the negative reviews on this bar and see that many others have experienced what I have.Sony appears to know that this is a bad product and their customer service sounds pretty lame. Back this thing goes as soon as I hit send on the review.

Never had problems setting up a soundbar until now
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I brought this home and wasn't able to play music through the soundbar and sub. The sub doesn't seem to find the link it just goes on standby. The manual is horrible! Now that it's all hooked up to the TV the sound doesn't work at all. There are many comments about how difficult it is to set this product up but people eventually figured it out and now they love it. I am not in the love it phase because it isn't working and nowhere does it tell you how to figure it out. It really shouldn't be this complicated to set this up.

Sony Sound Bust
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this on 12/29/2016. It stopped working on 3/18/2017. I called BestBuy and they told me I was outside their two week warranty and I'd need to call Sony. I called Sony about the unit being unresponsive and just scrolling "Please Wait" on the video screen of the sound bar. They are telling me I'll have to mail them the unit and wait about 9 weeks to get it back! I searched online and found several posts of other people who have had a similar problem and the fix is a replacement of the circuit board by Sony.

Bad product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have the htn3 downstairs and it has been excellent. Last Christmas I bought a 65 inch LG OLED and this sound bar. Sound bar does not get very loud and sound was not near as dynamic as the htn3. After few months unit stopped working. Sent it back to Best Buy to have it fixed under protection plan. Replaced board but still not working when tested at store. Big fan of SONY but this a bad product, buyer beware.

Stopped working after a few months
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this to go with my Samsung 8 series tv, ARC setup worked well for a while, but now it’s not working at all. Tried all options (BT, Optical, HDMI). For $700 you would think this would last a while ...

Stay away from Sony Sound Bars
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have owned the Sony HT-NT5 since 12/2016. It was sent into repair twice and then a new unit was sent to us 4 months ago. Guess what! The replacement unit is now also dead and now Sony won’t do a thing for us. Stay away from Sony products and in particular this sound bar unless you really like things to die every 4 months or so.

Don't Bother! Stay away!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wasted $600 on this when it was on sale. Box turns itself off every time tv is shut off, and doesn't turn back on. Impossible to program. Sound stinks, can barely hear it. I'll never buy another soundbar. It just sits in my living room, not working, while we use the speakers on the tv. Garbage. Very unhappy with this waste of money...

Subwoofer "unlinks"
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The subwoofer randomly "unlinks". Be prepared to to do factory resets of the soundbar and "link" up the subwoofer on a regular basis. My charming Geek Squad guy gave me the helpful advice that "Sony soundbars do that a lot". Last Sony soundbar and last purchase at Best Buy.

Vizio compatible? Does not work with mine.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Does this sound bar work with a Vizio TV? I was excited to get this home after hearing it in the store but after plugging it up it does absolutely nothing. Very disappointed. I did not ask the associate in the store if it would work but I did assume it would.

Posted .Hello Kevin! Depending on the television you are using and also on the type of connections it is necessary to go through the menu of your television to change the audio output to audio system instead to be able to send the signal to the Soundbar.
