This is not the best money can buy,but it has great sound coming out of it.

Been a fan of Sony for 30+ years now, back in the Walkman and Trinitron days of the 1980's. Currently have (2) Sony 75" X900e TV's and wanted some Sony soundbars to go with them. I had a Sony CT260 soundbar and it died after 2 years moderate use. Strike one. Best Buy had this CT290 on sale and it sounded good in the store, so I bought 2 of them. Got them home and after a couple days of tweaking, could not get them to sound that great. Treble is good but the mid range and sub bass is severely lacking, esp for the size of the sub. Only if I turned the volume way up would I hear any bass. Strike 2. Tested with videogames, Netflix movies and Bluray. All sounded the same. Muffled and little-to-no bass. So disappointing! The look of the Sony soundbar and sub are great, and matches my TV's. Really wanted to like these Sony's but had to return. On a whim, and after reading reviews saying it was the best budget soundbar out there, I went out and got a Vizio SB3251 soundbar. And I'm not crazy about Vizio and really wanted to like and keep the Sony's. But after comparing the two, the Vizio blows it away! Crisp treble, LOTS of bass! And, the Vizio comes with 2 satellite surround speakers for full 5.1 surround sound, not 2.1 like this Sony. In fact, the Vizio sounds almost as good as my Samsung 5.1 full HT surround system I bought for 3x as much! Unbelievable for a "budget" soundbar. So it's with a heavy heart that I can't recommend this Sony Soundbar. I'm drinking the Vizio kool-aid now. It's less expensive, SOUNDS MUCH BETTER, comes with 2 surround speakers, the sub is smaller and hits a lot harder! Literally shakes the house. Using in a small bedroom 10x12 that I converted into a mancave and the other used in 20x20 family room. Stick with Sony TV's but their Soundbars are middle of the road at best and, overpriced.

I was on a budget when I got this set-up. I couldn’t spend more than $200. I previously bought a $300 Sony set-up for my gf and the only two differences I have heard are, there’s a little more bass on my girlfriends. ( don’t get wrong, this unit does hit VERY well ) and I usually have to shut the unit off and turn back on because it does this weird sounding echo when it’s first turned on. Turning it off then back on always fixes it. Other than that, this is a killer unit for the price. It’s built very sturdy and I love that the subwoofer is wireless.

I didn’t realize how bad my tv sounded until I got the sound bar. It works so well that my kids come tell me to turn tv down because they can here it in their bedrooms. It was easy to install and I couldn’t be happier with it.

As far as sound systemsin this range go, this one is one of the best I've heard. Sounders really clear and the set up his really easy. That remote and functionality makes it easy to use. But definitely recommend this product

We purchased this sound bar when we purchased our TV. The sound quality is beyond what I expected! It’s is excellent along with the base and volume! Definately would suggest this to anyone looking for a sound bar at a reasonable price.

Sounds much better than the TV sound, and for the price, is as good as it gets. Obviously the more high end ones sound better. But great option for low price.

Sounds awesome! Sometimes it cuts off and reverts to tv audio(and it is very noticeable) and I am not sure why. I just have to restart sound bar. I am starting to think its the hub, idk! STILL AWESOME SOUND!

I had bought my tv from here but decided to buy a cheaper sound bar at another store. It didn’t work out well and the sound was lacking. When I went in I wanted something better but wasn’t wanting to pay a lot of money. I found something that didn’t break the bank and has great sound for my apartment. So much so that I got a noise complaint. Needless to say it’s a good problem to have. Get it if you have a Sony very easy plug in play. Easily connects to tv remote so no universal needed. Great value and a nice brand. Will look to them again.

For the price it was a steal and my first soundbar...it defintley adds to the overall experience and I don't have to use my TV's speakers at all

The Sony Bar System with wireless woofer works great. It was easy to install, looks great and blends in to our home decor. We enjoyed countless hours of listening to Christmas Music and great sounds for football and movies.

This sound bar pairs up perfectly and sounds awesome. Highly recommend.
